‘Douche’ has jumped the shark as an all purpose put down. For that matter, ‘jump the shark’ has jumped the shark too.

The first blackout was one of the top 2 most fun UGA games I have ever attended, but I do believe the uniforms shouldn’t be trifled with too much. I like that it’s either red jersey or white jersey. But for God’s sake, don’t mess with the helmet! Please don’t let the helmet be what he describes in the article. Otherwise, if they win I probably wouldn’t care if they were wearing jock straps out there.

So we’re doing the Pro Combat thing too? Goddammit.

I just threw up when I read that. Not in my mouth…I literally puked.

Why do we have to be trendy like everyone else? I’m still trying to get used to those new-fangled “silver” britches.

Ditto (although he was already on mine for the scheduling changes.) We owe Nike nothing, they have disrupted college traditions all over the nation all in the name of Phil Knight making more money for his company by selling “specialty” jerseys to fans who actually think wearing a jersey is cool. Smacks of taking advantage of the weak-minded to me.

Even as a traditionalist I support the Black jerseys being worn every 2-3 years, but that is as far as I go with tinkering with the UGA unis. We are in a high profile game and wearing an alien uniform, cannot see any positives to that.

So I’m guessing Mendenhall will turn down any offer to coach of $2 million or more.

And didn’t start football ’til the 9th grade?! I thought every boy on the island played football from birth.

I had a dream last night the pro combats were Sinkwich-Trippi era throwbacks. That would get me very excited. I’d also love to see some 80s throwbacks. Who wouldn’t want either of these?

Those silver britches, white shoes, and white socks all the way up the calf to the knee pad are one of the best we’ve ever had. They just looked sleeker and faster. In fact, HW wouldn’t have been so successful in a more plebeian appearing uni. 😉

I’ve been wishing for a long time now we would wear the red pants with white stripe like we did against UT in 1980.

Vince put the kibosh on the red pants sometime mid 80’s. We had a run of losses in them. With typical Vince humor, he said “It’s not the pants, it’s what goes in the pants. And we’re going to assure that whatever goes in those pants never has a chance to get out again.”

all due respect Senator, you missed the great news in the espn release: ■Analyst Bob Davie will move from ESPN2 Saturday night games to ABC Saturday afternoon telecasts with Bob Wischusen, who worked Saturday noon games on ESPN2 last year.
that puts a smile on my face.

I saw that – here’s hoping I never have to hear him again. Ugh.

I didn’t see David Pollack on that list anywhere – wonder if he’ll still do studio analysis for the ESPN family of networks.

I did see Matt Stinchcomb this morning on ESPNU doing a Jon Gruden impersonation – pretty funny imo

Was watching the Dawgs on tv last week when my wife walked by and muttered what sounded like “asshole”. While taken aback, I knew my BAC wife would never use those words. During halftime I approached her carefully (I always approach my wife carefully) and asked what she had remarked. “Asshos” was the sound. Now she’s mentioning the entire team cause our cats and dogs weren’t watching with me. Have I mentioned the Dawgs and watched games too many times and exceeded her level of patience for those activities?

My wife’s mother was Phillippino (who consider themselves to be Polynesian in origin) and her father was an American from Colorado. She grew up in the Phillippines and speaks Tagalog, some Spanish and English. Sometimes when she is vexed, she will give a stream of utterances that I am totally unfamiliar with and have taken to reading her face as to continue the conversation or to flee for my life (as when I make the mistake of telling her that her cultural derivation makes her an Amnesian from birth). After her utterance, I realize that she is at peace and tentatively ask what she is upset about. She thought for a moment, laughed and said, “No, silly. “Aso” is the Tagalog word for dog”.

So fear not Senator, we don’t need the vowels. Now we can call him “Our Big Brown Aso”! Boy, will he be proud using a polynesian title for him while at the same time demonstrating our worldly class.

I was at Clark AFB with my father in the 60’s while he was with SAC. I guess we were about an hour outside of Manilla. I learned several choice Tagalog words and phrases while there. Years later after waking up in the recovery room post orthopedic surgery, I was surprised by the recovery room nurse’s sharp reprimands for my language while I was coming out from under the anesthesia. She was from the Philippines and was quite offended by my “thought to be forgotten” Tagalog.

Boy, I wish to forget some of the Tagalog spoken AT this old dog!
When she threatened that a “Phillippino haircut” was done with a knife and below the waist line it has been tough to sleep. I was sleeping with one eye open, but discovered that she was too! If she ever discovers that the Dawgs don’t play 52 weekends, I’m a dead duck.

Are we that far ahead of the rest of the SEC here?

  12. I give little credence to a douchiest school list that does not have UVA as #1, #2 and #3. The lack of Ohio State is also of concern.

I’d like to see the Dawgs bring back those cropped at the midsection jerseys like Buck used to wear.

“The Georgia G is preserved in its rightly spot,” McGarity assured.

As a matter of fact, the Georgia “G” isn’t preserved in its rightful spot, if the details in the article are correct. The “G” belongs on a red helmet with a white stripe, the most iconic and recognizable symbol of our university and our program. It doesn’t belong on a black helmet, nor a silver helmet, and history be damned on that point.

A Douche U list without Harvard is completely invalid; Florida should hav been ranked higher, too.

UC Santa Cruz should have made it as well; there are few more perfect distillations of trustafarian hippie pretentiousness anywhere on the planet.

Color me meh about the new unis. They weren’t our idea, they’re only for one game, and the players seem excited about them. If it was permanent, I’d be as up in arm as the next fanatic, but I don’t see it as that big a deal (at least as long as they don’t have black Gs on black helmets).
