Envy and jealousy: SEC Media Days edition

Great, great one-liner from the LA Times’ Chris Dufresne about SEC Media Days:

For three days, Wednesday through Friday, starting with Arkansas and ending with Louisiana State, fanatics of all shapes and allegiances jammed the lobby for the chance to glimpse their heroes.

Think of a “Star Trek” convention combined with a rodeo.

The whole piece is a fun read.

Dooley’s perfectly manicured hair makes a Mormon on Sunday look like a homeless hippie.

Makes one want to wear a tucked-in shirt that says “I Hate Georgia”. After it garners attention with a small reporter’s meeting announced 1-hr hence and with photographers present, pull the remainder of the shirt out that drops to knee-length with a littany of words emblazoned in red and black that says:

    Tech
    Politics
    Haters
    Opponents
    Stories in AJC
    Etc, etc
    __________
    __________

Just fill in the blanks in a photogenic opportunity manner.

Chizik, somewhat joylessly, says the investigation “hasn’t taken the joy out of anything.”

Can’t imagine why the LA Times sent a reporter but it is a good read.
