Depends on what you mean by past performance, but then again, since college football started in 1990, you could be right.

If college football started for Florida in 1990, then it must have ended for Georgia in the early 80s.

I’m not sure that makes sense, sport. Georgia’s got three SEC Championship Game appearances in the 2000’s, two titles, several national top 5 finishes… and while things in the Florida series went south in the 90’s, Georgia had an 8-2 record vs. Florida in the 1980’s, including three straight wins to close out the decade. So… there’s that.

There’s a difference between being unfit and injured. The heat exhaustion thing is probably a fitness issue, but it is also the sort of thing that could happen to a basically fit person. Geathers was a monster in the spring, and this may be him growing up as much as anything. We’ll need both, and as fast as Jenkins is reported to be, he could play some at end and rag doll some QBs before it’s over. I just hope this is all just reporters having to find something bad to report about.

My eldest finished in the top ten at state in cross country and he also wrestled. He’s had heat exhaustion and he was always in shape.Causes of heat exhaustion include exposure to high temperatures, particularly when combined with high humidity, and strenuous physical activity. This summer has been a sweltering one. I have walked through the parking lot to my vehicle and was surprised by just how sweaty I got…. and I don’t walk that fast.

Will we ever be a force on the D line? Seems we always have issues – even when we had Seymour & Stroud lining up together. Going into this year I thought we had a deep, talented D line: Tyson, Geathers, Jones, Smith, Jenkins, Lott, Thornton. Thought we’d rotate ’em and wear down opponents. Now the guy we projected as our starting NT might wind up as backup DE. For starters, if we can’t recruit NT’s we shouldn’t be running the 3-4. Second, we need production from our D line – no excuses.
Ya know, it really sucks to get my hopes up about the season. When I see players our coaches said were great recruits turn out to be backups, it drives me nuts.

Whoa slow down there Cobb Dawg. CTG has been here for what— one season and he’s done what—- recruited a highly regarded nose and apparently has coached another up to spring MVP and to the point of starting. Now I may be over the top with this and it might just be me.. but doesn’t he get a little more time before we start the meme “if we can’t recruit NT’s we shouldn’t be running the 3-4.”? You’re being a bit “premature” ….and that ain’t fun for all the parties involved. Now that could drive you nuts. Not that I have had any personal experience with it…. but I’ve heard stories.

Don’t know if your chumming or trolling but it is not very attractive. There was plenty of mumbling and grumbling from the glass-half-empty brigade who foresee a season of struggle. I know I have a strange memory …… but I’ve managed to use it well.

Never claimed to be an expert and I’m just expressing my thoughts. Doesn’t mean I’m right or wrong. Opposing opinions (sometimes any opinion) seems to strike a nerve with some commenters. I’ll be at the dome next week supporting the Dawgs. I’m definitely geeked up for the game, but memories of 1-4 start last year have taken their toll. It’s frustrating to see a top school wallow at 6-7. I’ve seen too many opportunities squandered over the past 30 years to be so optimistic. I’ll always be a Dawg lover, but I have to call ’em as I see ’em. Sorry if it doesn’t meet your high standards or expectations. Feel free to critique my comments and call them “not very attractive” – I’m cool with it.

Let’s not get into dick measuring Cobb Dawg. I’m not retired and not particularly excited about it. But I enjoy building my pile and watching my kids grow up. I will try to stay off your lawn sir……lol

I guess I read that a little differently……almost as if when he’s been in there that he’s, even at his size, shown the ability to slide out to the end…..they’ve said all along that the big boy is quick.

Jenkins has already proven valuable by lighting a fire under Kwamae’s substantially large ass. Big John will still line up and contributes year.

You know remedial reading for some of you could help. CTG has said all along that he would like to get KG and Big John on the field at the same time. Well you can’t have two Noses in a 3-4 so he is saying Big John is fast enough to play DE. How in the name of Wally Butts do you Deathrow Dawgs make something negative out of that?

I think in certain situations UGA will play 4 down linemen on D probably in a 4-3. That is when we are most likely to see Kwame and Jenkins on the field at the same time, as DTs.
