ESPN, you ignorant slut.

I know this is just another example of the buffoonery the WWL chooses to offer in place of serious analysis, but I still can’t help but be amused by two Florida grads “debating” the outcome of the Boise State-Georgia game with both concluding that the Dawgs are the ones going down.  Color me surprised.

Shades of 2005. Or 2007. I guess they figure if they just keep picking us to lose to a paper tiger, sooner or later we’ll lose. And what will they all say if UGA wins, or even worse (for them), inhales their callow non-BCS opponent yet again?

Well, Boise (like 2005 Boise, like 2007 Hawaii) just wasn’t that good. UGA had a big crowd advantage. They had a long time to prepare. Or, most likely of all, they’ll just ignore it and start talking about how UGA can’t beat preseason national champion South Carolina next week. Because, you know, Spurrier “owns” UGA, and he’s the Old Ball Coach, notwithstanding that our worst team in 10 years lost a close one to Spurrier’s best team ever at S Carolina AT S Carolina last year, and that still left him 2-4 against UGA in Columbia. Of course, when you have two former Gators analyzing things, we could be playing the Meadowcreek HS JV, and UGA would still be riddled with question marks and likely to lose.

They don’t like us. Fine by me. Let’s just kick Boise’s ass, and then the Gamecocks, and then Coastal Carolina, and so on. As Erk once said, that is the plan. There is no alternative plan.

Whatever it is “they” say about UGA, at least they won’t be talking about Boise any more. Tha will make the 2011 college football season infinitely more watchable.

Ick, ESPN has been ratcheting up the quantity of these faux debates for years, and it’s really disgusting. There must be a corporate mandate that any analysis involving more than one person requires melodramatic disagreement between the two, even if faked. PTI is probably the most annoying offender, but it’s really on everything.

One nugget worth noting though – their RB is rated the top 2012 draftee at his position? Really? That’s troubling and skeptical-eyebrow-raising, in equal parts.

Damn Senator, that first article is so bad it makes me want to light my hair on fire and punch a puppy. If ever there was an inane article that could lead me into spontaneous fit of rage induced madness, that was it.

It’s the way Aschoff demonstrated firm knowledge of Georgia and in the last sentence , removed from his assessment, picks BS. That makes me paranoid about ESPN telling them how to vote.

Where will you get your news about sports if not from the Mothership!? Let them eat cake.

I first rolled my eyes when AA questioned the “neutral site” title of the game since Georgia is playing in Atlanta…HELLO?!?!

(not to start THAT debate because I actually like jville but come on!)

Boise should just be glad they’re not playing in Athens again.

      For reallyz.
Seriously though, can we stop playing this kind of opponent once and for all if we do indeed dispatch with them (again) with extreme prejudice?
Whether or not they are ranked in the Top 5, this still becomes a no-win situation. Even though they are favored by three, they are still getting the no-respect-we’ll-show-’em-underdog-David-and-Goliath treatment with the chattering class.
      It’s pretty maddening.

I used to watch the 2 hour Saturday show and the weekly college football show on ESPN. I have given that up based on all the stupidity and nonsense coming out of Bristol. The seem to have a theme/agenda they want to push and I’m not interested in hearing it. I’ll watch the games because I have no choice. The rest can fall on deaf ears.

Same here. My fall Saturdays used to start with Gameday every weekend. Now I don’t even bother switching the tv on until the first games start.

+1 – It was my favorite show until the past two seasons when I haven’t even bothered. The only thing I checked these past two seasons was if they were still using that tired Big & Rich mess for a lead in. It was pretty good hype for maybe two seasons, but I would just gag if I had to hear it again.

Same here man. Gameday, and hell ESPN in general, has become so horrible. Just three, four years ago College Gameday was the best sports show on television, in my opinion. Now I just mainly watch ESPN for sports broadcasts, and even some of those I have to put on mute.

ESPN’s strategy is to make sports the male equivalent of a flip through “People” magazine. Personalities and meaningless, faux controversy are what the WWL push … and, in this genre, I’d give a nod to the WWF over the WWL. (And the WWF ain’t no old school Georgia Championship Rasslin.)

Isn’t Boise favored in this game? If so, it would seem that the majority of betting money thinks the Broncos will win too, in addition to these two UF grads.

That said, if I am a man that bets against the spread, I will take Georgia. I think they can and probably will win this game

However, in this case, I think you are onto something, Skeeter. Count me in. I’m the VP for sales in the Southeast for F’ing Scooters. Can I put an ad on the back? Please! The F’ing Chinese sales VP is making fun of the fact that we can’t even ride a F’ing Scooter. I’ve only sold 40 at UGA while he just passed his 30M mark sale. I need some help here, man.
