We’re playing those mind games together.

The funniest comment I heard last night in response to the news that Connor Shaw was named the starter against East Carolina was that Spurrier was “giving Georgia something to think about.”

Todd Grantham’s already got Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery to worry about.  He better not have time to be pondering the OBC’s latest stab at quarterback manipulation.

Probably Spurrier’s way of “punishing” Garcia for his many indiscretions. If Garcia isn’t in by the end of the first quarter, I’ll eat my hat.

He’s not punishing him for any of that. He’s punishing him for not playing QB like Spurrier, the same reason he pulls this bidness with all of his QBs.

Old, old tricks from the old dog.

spurrier the coach would probably treat spurrier the QB like trash too. Notice how SOS Jr. never amounted to much as a QB.

After the Spurrier “transgressions” comment, maybe Shaw is John the Baptist to Garcia’s Jesus.

Self-sabotage, I like it! Could we look back at this year sometime in the future and say this was the year it all started going wrong for Spurrier? He’s finally got some real expectations nationally for the Gamecocks. He’s not just yanking his Smelley around in semi-private anymore….

I thought some of Steve Spurrier’s bad traits were tempering over the years. It’s reassuring to see he can still be a flaming asshole.

As an outsider looking in, this development is a plus for UGA, imo

Did anyone else see the Jeffrey “Fat Pics” over on Georgia Sports Blog? I’m interested to see how he fills out his jersey Saturday. http://georgiasports.blogspot.com/2011/08/playing-roll-of-terrence-cody-will-be.html

To me this seems like a reward for Shaw for doing things the right way and to illustrate to his players of he expects them to behave.

However, I also noticed that Shaw average 20+ yards per completion while Garcia was averaging just 10+. – so perhaps that may have also had something to do with it.

Grantham does has his hands full with Lattimore, but if the QB cannot get Jeffrey the ball … eh wishful thinking.

Those two blow hards Barnhardt/Durham were saying the same thing this morning on their radio show (of course all in a faux SOS voice). Barnhardt said SOS was “giving UGA something to think about”. Really? I’m sure the UGA coaches won’t sleep the rest of the week thinking about which QB will either hand off to ML or throw to AJ. (insert eye role here)

Sounds like Garcia done broke rehab. Or The Visor has gotten paranoid about the Ms reporting that Garcia is just fabulous, but needs to trim his nails and freshen his breath.
