3 things I’d like to hear walking out of the Dome tonight.

(In no particular order)

“Man, that was fun!”

“It looks like we’ve got ourselves a running back again.”

“Grantham’s a pretty good coach.”

And your choices would be?

Damnit! Bobo sucks. Our line play was horrible and defense had zero penetration. It’s pretty sad when Todd Blackledge has better game adjustment analysis than our coaches

Seriously! 5-7 with this schedule? What 7 does he have us losing to? Mark is just a tool that is anti-BCS and anti-SEC. If we lost to all the ranked teams that would be 5 (and have you seen how Auburn is playing today?) He also said that LSU was the best in the SEC and didn’t have a chance against Oregon. There are two problems with that statement alone!

Grantham is complete and total garbage, he is just like Willie just not as humble, which is not an improvement. Richt needs to go too, he’s had his chances. If he wanted to keep coaching at UGA he should have gotten rid of Willie a hell of a lot sooner before all of the good will he built up was gone. We need to clean house and start fresh and never ever trick up our uniforms ever again.

So disappointing. How did this staff not correct the O-line issues? The D-line regressed during the offseason. It will interesting to see how this staff/team reacts next week against SC.

Never thought I’d say this, but we haven’t changed a thing. Not one single thing. The O-line play was just garbage. Maybe worse than last year. Arm tackling everywhere. I have to live in this state after SC blows us out at home next week.

And speaking of living in this state, we look just like Clemson tonight Tons of talent, no results.

For the first time since he was hired, I have lost faith that CMR can get us to the BCS championship. I don’t care if we go 11-1 and go to the sUGAr bowl. I do not have faith that he can get us to the level that our donors are contributing for. I apologize for the dangling preposition, but anything short of a massive overhaul offensively will not be enough. Also, did we rehire Fabris as our ST coach during the off-season and I miss it it?

    1. Grantham definitely overpaid and is just average at best. Not a great hire and won’t save Richt it appears. We still suck on defense and I don’t want to hear excuses about the offense putting them in bad situations. BSU took the ball right after halftime and marched for a TD just like we all knew they would. And that happen several times.
    2. Samuel should be nicknamed “no gain.” He is as bad at carrying the ball as I remember.
    3. Crowell is not the next great UGA rb.
    4. Murray can’t continue to take so many sacks. He took far too many last season and this trend has got to stop.
    5. Why do we have to be trailing by 14 or 21 in order to move the football on offense? Do we have to have some sense of urgency in order to call good plays?
    6. Boise looked smaller. We looked more athletic. They kicked our butts and my overall feeling was embarrassment rather than anger.
    7. We are still soft. We need to stop practicing in shorts and get back to intense scrimmaging during the week regardless of injuries. I don’t care if half the starters get banged up, its the only way we will get better.
    8. This game looked like every game we played last season. Deja vu.

Couldn’t agree more. I have finally begun to say that I do not believe that CMR can take us to the promised land. I didn’t think that we would get so dominated in this game with such an athletic advantage, but this is the experience that I have had with this coaching staff in the past couple of years.

Agreed with #5. this might be because of my disappointment with bobo, but it is. I feel a lot of this loss falls on him. He spent almost three quarters tring to establish a running game when it wasn’t happening. I remember that the boise secondary was the most inexpierneced group and it wasn’t attack untill the forth quarter. For Murray, it has to be hard to make plays on 3rd and long. Like he had all night. Very frustrated right now.

      1. Agree completely.
      2. Agree, but there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Losing Caleb and Washaun, idiots that they were, has put us in this position. The freshman can’t carry the ball 30 times a game.
      3. It is WAAAAY too early to criticize Crowell. He averaged 4 yards a carry while being inexplicably forced to run at the strength of their defense all night.
      4. He has got to get better at knowing when to get rid of the damn ball.
      5. It boggles the mind.
      6. Pretty much agree with that as well, although I think this is the best offense we will see all year.
      7. We are Downy soft.
      8. Yep.

Even though its “only one game” it feels like a continuation of last year right now. Not much, if any, reason for optimism.

Personally, I think we lose next week as well. The question at that point becomes, does the team fold its tent at 0-2, or do they keep fighting and try to salvage the season? My opinion is that Richt’s job will depend on the answer to that question.

There is no doubt that the UGA football team is much, much better than they showed tonight. If Nick Saban or Urban Meyer were coaching that overwhelmingly superiorly talented team in red, the Dawgs would have won by 21+ points. There is no denying that tonight was lost by the incompetence of the imbeciles running the program. To defend them now is to admit your own stupidity. Greg McGarity must do what is right for the University of Georgia, and that is to fire Coach Mark Richt and the rest of his incompetent staff.

Wish I had some of what you are smoking. You are pretty much in denial or reality at this point. I cannot imagine a more piss-poor coaching performance than what we saw tonight.

False start on the first play? Check.

Blow the end of the 1st half time-management? Check.

Totally fail to go into the I-Formation until midway through the 3rd quarter? Check.

If you think that there is any chance of coming out of this ditch, then you are way more than a loyal fan, you are borderline insane. It’s terrible. It’s not going to get better. The only remedy now is to chop off the head and begin again. There is no return to glory under the current regime. It’s over. Done. Wake the fuck up.

Reread my post. I didn’t say sign CMR to a contract extension. I said don’t throw away the season by acting impetuously. Remember me? I wanted CMR to go after last season. We don’t want to screw things up worse and maybe mess up future years by firing a HC midseason. Whom do you think would be in charge if CMR got the ax? Bobo or Grantham? Do you want that? Or do you want to fire ALL the coaches and have the players drawing up plays in the dirt by themselves? Go to bed and quit posting. Your Momma said you shouldn’t be up after midnight anyway.

Time to take the shit to the curb. He sucks. Is lazy. Is stealing $2.5 million taxpayer dollars a year. I would drop the blade tomorrow. Scu is going to beat us by 30+ points. All that bullshit that we hear this off-season was just Richt marketing for another paycheck. Don

Van Gorder, DC for 4 seasons = 52 games, 1 game where opponent scored 30 points or more. (LSU scored 34 in SEC title game)

Grantham DC for 14 games = 6 games where opponent has scored 30 points or more (5 of the last 7).

Senator, not sure any one of those three statements was uttered leaving the Dome tonight. Sigh. Lots of work to do before next week. Want to pile on CMR, CTG, and CMB, but I’m too tired of the same ole schtick. The SEC East remains up for grabs, and the Dawgs have an uphill battle ahead. I am on record as saying that this BSU game meant more for our season than USC. I worried about the psyche of players returning from last year and the pressure all would feel to save CMR’s job. I’m not sure tonight changed my feelings on that at all. These are young men, and I wonder how they will respond. Guess we’ll see next week.

    Like

    • I’m with you. I was on record stating that the BSU game was the most critical of the two, but that really is just BS sports talk shit, if we go out and win the SEC games… but who in their right mind has any faith that that’s gonna happen? From what I saw last night, even the players don’t believe it and the coaches are out of bullets.
