I just want to know what the story is with the uniform reference. Was he distracted admiring his looks as he got in his stance? Was he upset that he wasn’t celebrating his return to the field in a more traditional uniform? What?
I’d like to think this could be the final nail in the coffin for Georgia wearing special uniforms again. But I doubt Nike agrees with me on that.

The helmets might have been harder to hear in than their standard ones. Kind of like how Jarvis Jones’ came off so much (something like 23 times), even though he said that hadn’t been an issue at all in practice with the normal ones.

I wonder if Nike knows/cares how universally disliked those uniforms were? I even had non-Georgia fans saying “Your uniforms usually look nice, what are you doing?”

I actually thought our uniforms were worse than Maryland’s. At least theirs had some connection to the state flag. Ours weren’t even a bulldog red.

My mother-in-law (whom I love dearly) was trying to be nice and said they had a very nice pink-red color to them. She couldn’t understand why I didn’t like that.

Agreed. Can anyone in the stadium shed light on why in the hell you could hear anything louder than a cough when we had the ball? Not to say his excuse makes up for anything. However, after hearing Bean and Richt bring it up, it seems to me that you wouldn’t need to practice non verbal cadences if you assumed you’d be playing in a home stadium.

It doesn’t seem all that long ago that I was reading how our program is one of the five wealthiest in all the NCAA. Why in hell can’t we afford to tell Nike to take their $$$ AND their vile clown outfits and stick em where the sun don’t shine?? I am fully aware that U of Oregon is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nike and Phil Knight Enterprises but surely that is not (yet?) the case with us.

I hate Tebow, and I mocked Tebow mercilessly when he cried in his post-game presser after that loss to Ole Miss but damn what I wouldn’t give for one of our players to take responsibility for a loss and not give silly excuses or to have one of the coaching staff show hurt and determination after a loss instead of cracking jokes.

Actually Georgia should have thought about the crowd issue before they chose to receive. Boise was going to make us start from their end of the field. And while there were probably only 8-9K of their fans, they were all in that corner and it was very loud. The Dome is very loud to begin with, and even 8000 can make a racket when given the opportunity.
That being said, we lost because we weren’t prepared and because Boise just happens to be a very, very good football team. My Bama and LSU friends scoff, but they don’t want to face Kellen Moore.

I love it when the Senator and the rest of our fans takes a throwaway line one of our kids says and derides him for it.
A reporter sticks a microphone in the kid’s face and tells him to talk. Guess what, not everything these kids say is intelligent. Then this kid’s fans – white boys with real degrees (not football ones) – riducule the kid because he didn’t perform well enough and then in front of a reporter something stupid came out his mouth. I’ve got a teenager a lot smarter than Bean who says stupid things every 3 minutes.
I guess Bean is fair game because he screwed up and accepted the scholly at UGA- home of fans who berate you if you lose.

I thought the Senator was posting this in good humor. It’s not like he’s really crucifying Bean, is he? And half the humor, although not overt, is about the ridiculous uniforms. I’d say Senator is a pretty kind person and runs a pretty kind blog for the most part – maybe give him the benefit of the doubt that he probably likes Bean and all the players quite a bit, and this was just some good natured poking at a pretty funny comment.

Speaking of uniforms. Does anyone agree with me that Nike can’t fit our team in uniforms correctly? I saw more helmets and shoes flying off Georgia players heads and feet than I ever have in a game. If I had to worry about whether my gear was going to stay on I may block, tackle, run, pass and catch like crap too.

Boise wore the same “special” nike jerseys.. didnt seem to worry or slow them down any… Yes the colors were very toned down in comparison (with the exception of their shoes-good god those were ugly), but it was the same jersey.. youtube highlights from the game. See for yourselves.

That quote is enlightening. Apparently, we scrimmage so little that the experience of actually playing a football game seems foreign to our players. We need full contact high tempo practices that carry over to the game. Maybe then we could tackle, block, hit, etc. S&C is not a substitute for full contact scrimmaging. Neither is scrimmaging in shorts or scrimmaging where tackling certain players is off limits. This is where we went wrong the past five years.

I know it’s been a while since Richt has had a team in a dome, but you would think he remembers that they’re loud and that snap counts would be a concern. It kills me that he didn’t think to address this in prep. It’s crap like this that makes me wish he’d become a full-time missionary. How could you not prep for the place being bonkers? Damn, just damn.
