On the beach at Amelia, wondering what fans from Montana are doing today.

You can count me among the envious, Senator. Yell extra loudly for me.

    • The Fat Tire ran out.

      At least it’s cold.

    • Marshall

I like my fancy beer as much as any beer snob. I really like NB’s “Mighty Arrow” and “2 Below” but, of course, the Fat Tire kicks butt also. My all-time fav is Rogue’s “Dead Guy Ale.” However, sometimes there’s nothing better than a good old-fashioned, mass-produced domestic especially when it comes to drinking fast and furious. But, I do have a pair, so I drink Bud or Coors Banquet when it comes to that.

Just having some fun with you, Mr. Senator. Have a blast and bring us home a W!

  2. Bard Parker

    Bud Lite?
At least you have better taste than AM.

  3. Senator, stop winning the party and focus on winning the game.

    /I’m just joshin’ ya, Mayor

  4. AthensHomerDawg

Flew that area with an friend involved in a dolphin count program. You would be surprised at the number of sharks and how close they are to shore. Always weirded me out afterwards if I spent anytime in the water.

    • stoopnagle

Shark Week pretty much cured me of any notions I had that there were not sharks between “me and that sandbar out there.”

      • Russ

Just make sure you swim with at least one other person. That first person cuts your odds of being attacked greatly. 🙂

I say that as a surfer that occasionally still gets weired out.

      • No One Knows You're a Dawg

Shark Week convinced me there’re bullsharks all over the place. And no river is safe until you get to a dam.

    • James Stephenson

A guy I work with has a cousin in the Coast Guard in copters, and he told me how much the guy talks about the number of sharks you can see out there swimming with the people.

    • Faulkner

Bull sharks are no joke. I hope we’re that nasty tomorrow come 3:30.

      • shane#1

I took a boat ride from PC to Cape San Blas with some friends last summer. One of the guys jumped overboard to cool off when we stopped. Off the tip of the cape is the best shark fishing area in north Florida. When we told the swimmer that he would make better bait if he splashed around a little he was back in the boat like he had been shot out of a cannon.

  5. Puffdawg

Is that the Par 3 at Amelia Island Plantation now owned by the Omni?

  6. Glad you explained the bud lite Senator—GO DOGS–the Fat tire folks oughta send you a couple of cases for that reply

  7. And T-Rays for breakfast. Things could definitely be worse. All that is missing is a return to dominance by the Dawgs!

  8. A Montanian

Is there something going on this week?

  9. Pumpdawg

It’s cold as shit and raining in north Georgia. That picture makes me wanna cry.Think I’ll have a beer.

  10. Silver Creek Dawg

Tee one high and let it fly for me please…

    • Chopdawg

The new Southwest Bypass makes me wonder if there’s a shortcut thru Silver Creek from Hwy 27 to Hwy 101…if so would cut my travel time to Jax by 10 minutes. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about your handle might be referring to a different Silver Creek.)

  11. Mayor of Dawgtown

Glad you’re having fun, but….you don’t need for there to be a football game to go to the beach, drink beer and play golf. You can do that any time you want. Really.

    • Scott W.

Will you give it a rest already.

    • Dog in Fla

“you don’t need for there to be a football game to go to the beach, drink beer and play golf.”

Thank goodness! If that were the case, football season would have to last all year long.

      • Mayor of Dawgtown

Actually, I do it all the time w/o the football.

        • Dog in Fla

Absolutely and there’s nothing wrong at all with throwing in a Georgia-Florida game after a little beach, beer and golf. I think the pic above shows that to be the case. Why punish the fans just because our coaches haven’t quite figured out yet how to win with regularity in Jax? I have accepted no money from the Chambers of Commerce in Duval County for the above ad but it’s not because I haven’t tried.

          • Melody

That picture is from Nassau County–not anything in Duval County. The other nice beaches are in Ponte Vedra–in St. Johns County. Duval County doesn’t have too much about which to brag .

      • Cojones

Dog in Fla- Don’t tell my wife. She thinks it DOES last all year. I took her to the Spring Game and told her it was in the schedule.

  12. Cheers from a half-mile up the beach.

You lucky bastard, well at least we’re having a UGA vs. UF PARTY tomorrow, and it will be brimming with good lookin’ Ga. Gals and not one of them is a UF fan.
PS would still rather be in Jax’ville though.

  14. JaxDawg

And some of you want to move the game.

Weather here tomorrow is going to be sunny, low humidity, with a high of 70.

    Perfect football weather.

  15. ChicagoDawg

Not in Montana, but I am sitting here at work in Chicago giving you (my computer screen) the finger. 🙂

    Go Dawgs!

    • BFR

Cheers to that – similarly positioned here in Chicago. Weather here today does not promote beach-type activity. This will be my first year in quite a few not attending the Cocktail Party & I have to say, I haven’t been this excited to watch a game on TV in a long time! Go Dawgs!

    • SSB Charley

Three hours southeast of you in Indy. And doing the same thing. Hunker down and kick that Gator ass!

  16. Dawgaholic

Bunch of pansy beer drinkers on here. Not sure I’ve ever seen someone throw back ten plus fat tires or any of the other fancy beers – not that those beers aren’t good. I do know some folks that think a 12 pack of Bud Light or Corona per person is not enough beer for the day – from experience with them, they are right.

    • Gravidy

I go camping with guys who bring one CASE per night and still run out. Yes, I’ve been with them on four night trips when they brought four cases per person with them and still ran to the store on the fourth afternoon.

I usually budget six per night and bring beer home. I’m not in their league…

      • Dawgaholic

That’s a strong group. Bet they are a lot of fun. I still remember the time I was using a urinal at the GA Dome before some UGA game there years ago when someone made a comment about the amount of time I had been at the urinal after an afternoon spent outside at the dome. Another guy heard it and said, “He’s a Dawg, they’re professionals.”

  17. Sternkid

Can you change up your ‘ritual’ slightly? You know, 3 for the last 21 and all.

    • Dawgaholic

Normally when I leave the cocktail party, everyone with me is pissed about losing the game. Tomorrow I’m going to the game with two UF alums.

  18. FortWorthDawg

    Who’s playing there tonight Senator?

    • FortWorthDawg

Come on. Help a Dawg brother stuck in Texas out. I’ve been going to Jax over 25 years and I’ve moved to Texas recently. Now this week of ALL weeks I’m bummed I’m not down there. There’s ALWAYS a band playing at the Plantation on Friday night. Who’s there tonight?

      • Chopdawg

You can sneak into that place, if you pretend you’re working for the caterers…

They stop looking at armbands about 9 or so…last time I was at the plantation, they were selling Yuenglings (sp?) for a buck apiece, introducing a new beer to the Jax area.

Nothing, of course, will ever be better than Bad Frog (“He Just Don’t Care”)

  19. BulldogBen

…….and the first pang of regret for selling my tix this year enters.

  20. charlottedawg

Leather helmet blog has a post from online sports guys that a georgia play”who’s absence would have a significant impact on the game” failed a second drug test and will be held out tomorrow. can someone confirm or deny this? Needless to say we do not need this

  21. charlottedawg

    Sry meant player not play

  22. wnc dawg

You know, I actually used to live in MT & amazingly, people actually recognized my G. Go figure…and damn, I don’t care what anyone says, other fanbases would kill for an annual game like this…back to the tailgate.

  23. kckd

Nice place, bad beer. Go with a European beer, preferrably a nice Belgian Ale. If you have to do domestic and it’s not a microbrew, do a Sam Adams.
