If John Brantley doesn’t play tomorrow, Georgia wins. Ergo, Brantley plays.

No shit Sherlock.
if a Muschamp fails in the swamp, but no Dawgs bother to listen, does he make a sound?
Think the Dawgs win by a field goal in a low scoring game. If Brantley DOES get some hobbled playing time it won’t be for the majority of snaps. I still predict Trey Burton will get inserted at QB and UF offense will be all about speed/run game.
There is NO way for the stinking, no good, rotten Gators to win this year! All of the JaxVegas jort fans have been mum for several weeks. It has been beautiful. I predict The Dawgs, in a lop-sided, good old-fashioned, kick their butts victory. Bring back the 70’s and 80’s. I am read to cue the Cher music and “turn back time!” GO DAWGS!!
Malcom Mitchell didnt make the trip to Jacksonville, we have nobody to replace him! Hurts BIG-TIME!!!
Shit, we have to play with 10?
Maybe, but that doesn’t eliminate the possibility that Georgia wins even though Brantley plays, right? We don’t care whether Brantley plays or not as long as we win. Gotta think positively, Senator.
Strictly from a Logic 101 point of view (Prof. Shull, first floor Peabody Hall, Winter Quarter 1979, remember how he sat on the desk with his legs crossed, whoo what hangovers I had in that class), even if Blutaraky’s proposition is true, the conclusion that Brantley plays ergo Florida wins doesn’t necessarily follow, FWIW. I’m superstitious and trying not be modest.
Trying to BE modest. Egad, hope I didn’t cause a whammy.
Um MA in Philosophy here,
The conclusion does not follow because it violates the proper construction. If P then Q as the saying goes. Can’t have the cart before the horse.
The structure has to be as follows:
If P then Q
~Q then ~P
But I think that was the point. The faulty logic seems to be norm in the UGA-FU game. The concept of deductive logic does not run the course seemingly here.
Just my $.02
The “then ~P” makes the “therefore, ~P” redundant.
Just me $.01.
Modus ponens? It’s been about 18 years since I studied that stuff.
Actually, yes, it does eliminate the possibility that Georgia wins. In fact, the suppressed premise is just that: “Georgia doesn’t win.” Insert that between the two sentences, and you’ve got yourself a formally valid argument.
I really prefer Brantley as a sitting target to Burton. We have had trouble with mobile QB’s this year as in the past. Give me a sitting duck all day long.
Hmmm. I thought that the Dawgs did pretty well against Garcia (who is relatively mobile) and Relf. That aside, I too hope it’s Brantley. Jarvis can do his Courtney Upshaw impersonation all night and be a one man wrecking crew on tge outside.
on THE outside
Early picks the Dawgs….
All I care about is that Brantley’s just lame enough to lose the special touch necessary to throw dropped INTs.
Defense stops the Gators. Dawgs roll in the second half.
Russ, Hope you are on target. The more I hear the more concerned I get.
If the Dawgs win, we will have the defense to Thank & to be proud of.
Boykin scores twice. UF makes three turnovers. Orson Charles bustout game.
We have all read this book, most of us own the movie. Regardless of who the Gaytors roll out as QB, Dawgs lose 24-17.
Classic Skeptic Dawg.
Classic Energy Vampire. I bet you are disappointed this morning. When Christian Robinson says everyone threw the team out with the trash after the USCe game, he was referring to you.
It seems like every week is a must win game.
That tends to happen when you start 0-2.
I feel compelled to say something. And that is it.
I’ve never been more certain that I’m just not certain!
And every game except the first and coastal felt like a close one somewhere at the end.
If we win the coin toss, does MR take the ball first considering what the defense will have in the 2nd half?
I had to google Q.E.D. I guess Brantley could make the difference. UGA needs to run the ball right at them like in 2007 opening drive. Not one pass. Right down their throat.
The problem with JAX this time of the year is amount of retards from UF contaminating the place.
We win. But it win be a three putt……
