“New Mexico State offense that ranks 16th nationally in passing yardage.”
New Mexico State is 3-5 earning part of that ranking with wins over:
    New Mexico 0-8
    Minnesota 2-6
    Idaho 1-7

Karempelis had over 5,000 yards rushing in HS along with Harton and the FBs we should be able to get by. If they screw up 2 games in a row we will be in trouble.

I watched Karempelis play 1 HS game, and it was clear he was the best player on the field. How that translates to the SEC remains to be seen. But i for one would like to see him and the other 2 walkons get 30+ carries Saturday.

Was the drug test administered and the results known before OR after the game, Senator?

While I obviously have no direct knowledge of the situation, i understand that NCAA drug tests (along with drug tests in general, say for employment and what-not) are typically administered then shipped off to a lab for testing, with typical turn around of the results in 3 to 5 (maybe business?) days. That being said, since they were supposedly administered on thurs of last week, the results probably would not have been ready until anywhere from Monday to today. Obviously they had them by yesterday.

It’s altogether possible that the tests were scheduled on thursday with the turn-around time in mind, particularly with the easy game to follow this week. and I find that much more plausible than Richt and/or McGarity ignoring internal athletic association policy and playing the guys even though they had failed then sitting them this week.

How many Florida players tested positive for marijuana before the UGA game? We all know it doesn’t matter because Florida does not suspend players after their first positive test. So then, what right does Florida or Florida fans have to question UGA’s enforcement of a policy that Florida itself does not even have?

“We might cheat, but you cheat too!”

Expedient timing of drug test results may not exactly be cheating, but I could not think of a better term to use to mock Mr Tu.

        Your mileage may vary.

Who said anybody cheated? My point is why are there different sets of rules? Since there are different sets of rules, can one really complain about the alleged lack of enforcement of a rule that you don’t apply to yourself?

More like, “remove the plank from your own eye.”
Richt has been nothing if not above board and fair on numerous incidents…to his own detriment. He has earned trust and deserves the benefit of any doubt. The pure speculation on this is ridiculous.

Ah, geez Mike. You’re better than this.

Two words for you: Scoreboard and Sour Grapes (OK that’s 3 words).

You gators have had quite a good time hashing out the famous excuses we UGA fans have had for going 4-18 in the past 22 years vs. Florida:

*Spurrier did not call the timeout in time in 1992 … Zeier’s TD was good.
*If we only had an off week before UF.
*If we only played in Atlanta once in a while.
*If only DJ Shockley hadn’t been hurt vs. Arkansas in 2005.
          *If, If, If.

You can hold yer mud better than this … you’ve got to beat Vandy this week to avoid total program meltdown this year.

SRS Ratings…we’d be about an 8 point favorite over AU, 20 on KY, but only 5 on the gnats. USCe favored by a FG over Arky if I interpreted this correctly.

I guess UAB has more street cred than I thought, earning a mention by the Senator and all.

    • I think I posted something a while ago about the Jimbo Fisher story. Doesn’t Bear’s son sit on the ‘Bama board, or didn’t he at that time?

Yes, Paul Jr. does. But from what I hear, he’s not necessarily the biggest “troublemaker.”

If you think hell hath no fury like a scorned woman, you should try discussing any UAB-related topic with a UAB follower. They may be small in numbers, but they’re fiesty.

Not wanting to be a dick (well maybe) but UAB has absolutely no business having a D-IA football program in a state the size of Alabama, with Bama and Auburn already there. Either go to D-IAA or just call it off entirely.
