I said as much to some people after the Carolina game, that somewhere along the line they WOULD lose a game that they weren’t supposed to lose. Not that I didn’t before, but I’m really starting to love that kid, Murray. And as a resident of South Carolina, I really appreciate his knowledge of Shamecock history.

Very good sign. For all of you non-winners out there who don’t gamble your childrens college account away, let me break it down for you:
For a spread to increase, it means that a significant portion of the money was being bet on us covering the 12.5 point spread. Vegas wants to set the odds so that the bets break roughly 50-50.
When this thing opened up, about 70% of the money was being bet on Auburn covering the spread…something significant must have happened in the last couple of days to cause such a dramatic swing.

DowgVent. Help me out. That doesn’t make sense. If the spread is -12.5 towards the Dawgs, and everyone was betting Auburn, then the spread would be moved down, not up -13, correct? Or are you telling me that Auburn is favored? Surely not.

Agreed. If the line moved up, it means folks were putting their money on UGA to cover. The bookies increased the line to get some Auburn money coming in.
They don’t care who wins. They just want the bets to even out, then live on the vig from the losers.
