Aaron Murray knew all Georgia’s early 0-2 record did was give the Gamecocks a head start.
“We knew we still had a chance, even when we went 0-2, and people were like, ‘Oh the season’s over with,’ ” sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray said. “South Carolina has never gone a season without losing at least three SEC games. So we’re like, ‘Hey just because we’re one behind them you never know what could happen.’ They could lose one, two, three.” [Emphasis added.]
Yeah, They’re “World Beaters”…. in September.

I love this kid. Between this and IC’s Auburn comments, I think the teams head is in the right place!

I thought the same thing. Swagger has returned to the Classic City.

While all that may be true, they still have more pre season SEC Championship’s than all the other teams combined.

I said as much to some people after the Carolina game, that somewhere along the line they WOULD lose a game that they weren’t supposed to lose. Not that I didn’t before, but I’m really starting to love that kid, Murray. And as a resident of South Carolina, I really appreciate his knowledge of Shamecock history.

Best bowl they’ve ever been to is the Outback. Enough said.
Lattimore is a baller so this might have been the year that they didn’t have to back into an East championship if he hadn’t gotten hurt.

South Carolina backed into the SEC East title last year?

Can you think of a year where UT, UGA and UF have been collectively worse? I can’t.
Ans STILL, FIVE losses. THREE in conference. In any normal year that is not a recipe for the East division champion.

I think we now know why Richt won’t hire a special teams coach. He used that spot to hire a snide comment assistant. Well played, I say.

Well, considering their finest season in the SEC featured a whopping FIVE losses, I’d say that Aaron isn’t too far off the mark here.

There are two sets of SEC traveling fans that are head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to country-come-to-town, sheer, stupid redneckery upon entering Athens, Georgia.
The Gamepenises and the Plain Eagle War Tigersmen.
Let’s break the spirits of the former while we crush the souls of the latter.

that actually sounds like the kind of thing Spurrier would have said about Peyton Manning or Ray Goff. I’m sure he’ll be able to accept that with the same good natured humor he’s always shown.

Odds INCREASED to -13 yesterday. Good sign from Vegas.

Very good sign. For all of you non-winners out there who don’t gamble your childrens college account away, let me break it down for you:
For a spread to increase, it means that a significant portion of the money was being bet on us covering the 12.5 point spread. Vegas wants to set the odds so that the bets break roughly 50-50.
When this thing opened up, about 70% of the money was being bet on Auburn covering the spread…something significant must have happened in the last couple of days to cause such a dramatic swing.

DowgVent. Help me out. That doesn’t make sense. If the spread is -12.5 towards the Dawgs, and everyone was betting Auburn, then the spread would be moved down, not up -13, correct? Or are you telling me that Auburn is favored? Surely not.

Agreed. If the line moved up, it means folks were putting their money on UGA to cover. The bookies increased the line to get some Auburn money coming in.
They don’t care who wins. They just want the bets to even out, then live on the vig from the losers.
