“Sometimes you don’t get always what you want, but a lot of times you get what you deserve.”

Isn’t that a Rolling Stones’ lyric?

Somehow Derek Dooley managed to preside over a loss to a Kentucky team that passed for 15 yards, mounted only two drives on the day and used a converted wide receiver as its quarterback, and in the process ended a 26-year winning streak and blew a shot at bowl eligibility.

Not bad for a day’s work.

You get the feeling that the Vols are going to be paying for the Lane Kiffin experiment for a few more years to come.  Karma is a bitch, dudes.

Just think, according to some Vegas insider blog, this dumpster fire will be our next head coach after CMR leaves for the mission field. SMH…

It was a heartbreaker for the Vols (keeping with the Stones theme), and it makes me happy. Screw the hillbillies. God, without the OT win over Vandy, they would have been winless in conference play.

      Which win was SEC ref–aided.

Not really, though. It was a ref screw-up that then “should” have screwed the Vols, but they decided to screw up their enforcement of the full implications of their earlier screw up. It was SEC reffing nirvana.

But even if they had done it all by the book, the Vols were going to get the ball needing only a FG to win. Odds of Vandy winning the game at that point had to be sub-10%.

Oh, who cares? Tennessee sucks and it is glorious!

What is DD doing now? Booze and pills and powder? 26 years and THIS is the KY team you lose to? Nice hire boys. This Manchurian Candidate thing we have going at UT and UF is great.

What’s the title and “Isn’t that a Rolling Stones’ lyric?” a reference to? Did someone mangle a quote once or something?

How ugly was this FSU v. Florida game? The ACC gets a win but not much to brag about. FSU had 95 total yards. FSU rushed 44 times for 35 yards. The Gators rushed 33 times for 54 yards. Can you imagine how painful it must have been to watch these two teams rush 77 times combined for 89 yards!!

+1. UGA should take over the East for the next 10 years.

I thought the Cocks looked really good last night considering they were starting their 4th (5th?) string tailback and a first year starter at QB. I know this: I will not be sorry to see Fat Alshon go pro.

They should have kept Phil Fulmer. Sure, times were a little tough, but he never let crap like THIS go down …

Fulmer’s most apocalyptic year was similar to the Dawgs’ season last year (though the vols missed a bowl altogether instead of going and losing)…The fans lost patience and canned him (a few seasons later). Now things are even worse.

Hmmmmmm….thank everything holy that Richt got it figured out in time.

Funny the Senator mentioned The Stones. I’ve been thinking for a few weeks now that this Georgia team is the embodiment of “You Got Me Rocking”. Not the best Stones song by any means, but after the 0-2 start it fits.

What Derek needs to do is recruit some more street fighting men that he can keep under his thumb, so as to keep the Vol fanbase from having a 19th nervous breakdown.

I’d be a fool to cry for the hillbillies, and I fear that I may be showing some sympathy for the devil by saying this, but I’d rather mother’s little helper not fade away.

Nick Saban wouldn’t have won more than 7 games in Knoxville with the shitpile Kiffins left there. I don’t know how good a coach Dooley is, but he walked into a fetid mess and the Vols’ futility is far from his fault alone.

This. It’s a little troubling that he can’t get his team to just outplay UK, but they’ve been demoralized at this point. I can’t imagine UT firing him yet, but it’s pretty obvious they will, once he gets them to the brink of respectability. Just ask Dennis Felton how that works.

I thought The Orange Clad Trouser Hound would have a career at Burnt Mattress U much like Shula did at Alabubba. However, the reorder on the “Rocky Stopped” tees have annoyed his fan base, boosters, alumi, and an adminstration that will never forgive him for the back-to-back losing seasons in a 100 years and for being the guy who gave up The Streak. Love him or hate him, he’s done – a lame duck coach.

And NO, Foolmer will not be coming back.

Don’t know if you saw Poole’s comments/tweets last night that the team basically had quit and didn’t care. Having “duh rick” in that mess is bringing me lots of pleasure these days (not to mention Nance junior and dad.)

That was a result of UCLA’s bottomless well of suckery, not Kiffy’s coaching acumen. Kiffin is a lousy coach and a giant douchebag, he just was lucky enough to have Matt Barkley this year.
