    The Big 10 made a mistake putting this game in Indy. They should put the game in a city with enough “home town fans” who don’t have to travel, like Chicago. Which is the melting pot of the Big 10 like Atlanta is for the SEC.

      Yeah, and exactly how many Indiana folks do you think will attend as well. I doubt many of them would go if the Bloomington team was playing.

    If the winner of the ACC/Big 10’s championship game determined who would go to a 8 team playoff, would more people show up?

    And if all you really care about is the national championship–and winning your league isn’t that important–then then there must be a lot of fan bases out there that lose interest in college football after their team drops out of the top 2.

    Thursday night events in downtown Atlanta needs seat-fillers. Total number of seat-fillers needed is not important right now.

    Must tolerate drinks and trash being thrown toward you and boorish immature behavior all around you. Prefer gold, yellow, beige, white, navy blue, or black clothing and a severe inferiority complex. Event will last one and a half hours on Thursday nights. All ages, sexes, races, etc. No visas, green cards, or proof-of-citizenship required.

    Please use contact e-mail. Event planner Dan will follow-up with exact details on a reasonably safe location for staging of seat-fillers (additional information and instruction provided there). Be prepared to move several times during the evening.

    Nothing compares to the SEC. Not the Pac-12. Not the Big Ten/Eleven/Twelve. Not the ACC. Not the Big 12/10, who got rid of their championship game.

    The SEC is a different animal.

    I love that they showed the ACC Champ game picture as a “what not to do”. If only it had been the GT/Wake Championship game. I wondere whic had a lower attendance?

    That Big Tweleventen matchup looks pretty interesting to me, and the Indy area should be ready for some competitive football by now. Think that game is a hard sell, imagine the interest in the PAC 12 game…30+ point underdogs! I knew UCLA should have hired June Jones that year, need them some Pirate right now.

      I saw PAC 12 tickets were as low as $18. I thought about giving it a try just to visit Autzen until I realized my wife’s school will have free hot cocoa on the same day.

          Why don’t they put it on the Ocho and have Speilman and Pam Ward call the game? They could kick it off at 11:00 a.m.

            Is Brenaman (sp?) still with FOX? If I remember correctly, he was the main culprit in that abortion of a broadcast for the 2007 Sugar Bowl.

      Agreed. Initially surprised (I thought Wisky and MSU fans turned out pretty well for our 2 bowls v each of them), then “it’s gotta be a joke,” then, a vague sense of cruel satisfaction, but, finally, yes, embarrassed for them–at least for the real fans. No doubt in my mind that the SEC is the land’s premier football conference, but I personally have always respected the Big 10, its teams and fans, notwithstanding that they are arithmetically challenged. It’s not the fans’ fault that certain sportswriters think their conference is still more relevant than it really is. But, really, I do not think this is a good thing at all for my favorite sport, which has already suffered a pretty rough year.

    Maybe they should have held it outside the way the commissioner wanted originally, you know, because they’re all such hearty and tough die-hards in that conference.

    The Big 10… could be a TV production guide for how many rows of fans they limit showing when doing the crowd shots.
