Ole Miss has a new head coach. And he’s movin’ on up:
… Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones said Freeze has a four-year contract that pays a base salary of about $1.5 million per season. Jones said incentives could raise that salary to as much as $2.5 million per year. The Rebels already owe Nutt a $6 million buyout on top of the $2.7 million he was paid last season.
Freeze made just $202,160 last season, according to USA Today, which made him the lowest paid coach in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Congratulation to Ole Miss on a very good hire. A HC who understands where football is today. Offensive minded. He will get a good staff. Glad Ole Miss did not go get a bunch of retreads. Apparently their search committee did a good job.
Second to the Dawgs, Ole Miss has the best looking uniforms in the conference and probably the best tailgating in the nation.

For their sake I hope that the Ole Miss folks will have patience and let Freeze build the program correctly. Obviously he’s getting the big money now so patience may be in short supply but if he’s for real then it’ll be worth it.
