Think the fine folks at the joke by the coke didn’t fully understand the proposal. The 25M-30M deal was for them to become the perpetual homecoming opponent for the Big10 members.
If they take the deal, the 10K or so season ticket holders will be pissed, but just think of all the savings on free hot dogs and cokes!

Even if you believe the mustard hype about their attractiveness (this is the same program that saw itself as the Notre Dame of the South 50 years ago, and considered itself really too big and marvelous for the SEC), there would have to be a reason the Big Ten would want them. I guess Northwestern could be considered as not holding up its end as the Vanderbilt of the Big Televen, so the members are considering finding a new, pencil necked program that everyone else can beat up on while extolling said PNP (pencil neck program) as a bastion of academic excellence.
Fine with me. In the unlikely event this does happen, it should work out almost as well as their last outside the box brainstorm. I wouldnt care if UGA didnt play them again, except that I hate giving up the almost automatic W they’ve been for the last 50 years.

While I believe there is about a 2% chance, I am feeling generous this morning, of Tech going to the Big 1? I do think it would be great. Tech would have an even harder time recruiting the state than they already do because what kid from Georgia would want to have to play his late season games in the cold of the north. The Big 1? is much tougher than the ACC so their chances of pulling off the occasional title game they have the last ten years would be about 0. I see no upside to it outside of a few more dollars for Tech and lots of downside so please let it happen.
As for the article by the AU writer he pretty much lost his entire argument when he stated Georgia lost two of its important wr’s followed by saying we lost both starting corners. Start with facts and even if I disagree with your opinion I can respect what you say. Mess up facts that are pretty easy to look up and I pretty much tune out everything else.

Put aside the fact that the Big1? wants Tech, do you think they really want Maryland and Rutgers also? Unless, they wanted to start another division called “Losers” to put Maryland, Indiana, Minnesota and Tech together, I really see no sense in entertaining this pipe dream.

I like the way no one has taken the Aub arti…..propaganda seriously to debate it. Let’s just keep it low for next year and like Nate Dawg says, “right up to kickoff”. Does anyone remember last year’s preseason by these boobs? Let’s see: Dyer , behind a great line will pummel UGA even more than Cam, the Pro QB (while at Auburn because he was paid) did and their improved D will “run Georgia backwards” while their “5 great receivers would carry the day” when Dyer needed a rest. Yeah, well we know how that crap worked. And they still didn’t understand after we handed them their ass in a hat!
It saddens me to talk down the intellect of any other school. No one has any basis to support that. But “delusional football fans” fits like a glove if they believe any of this crap as they believed last year before the bottom fell out. And Murray was lucky he wasn’t intercepted because they “had his number”. Goofy is the word for this “analysis”. It ain’t even cheerleading.

just to play devil’s advocate on the article, who’d a thunk Tech had a snowball’s chance in hell against us going into the 08 season? Not that it makes the article anything less than 100 proof homerism to the point of delusion. Put it this way, if we made the Georgia players read this before playing Auburn this year they wouldn’t feel disrespected, they’d just laugh.

His rationale in his comments make the Auburn article even more beautiful. “Auburn was the better team in 2011, they just lacked motivation.” It’s funny how the better team can lose by 38 without the opposing quarterback throwing more than 2 passes in the 2nd half.
