Meyer told Dunn that he could train and turn out like the great NFL QB, Tebow. Wait….uuuuh…that didn’t work out too well after Tebow made him the coach he is. The chance to see a real family with values looks like it really impressed Meyer, especially when they do that hug thingy without signing a contract.

Sure thing, Carvell, I’m sure Vince would love to recruit for Tennessee. The guy isn’t even willing to be in the stadium when Georgia and Tennessee play each other due to his conflicting loyalties, but I’m sure he’d love to take an active role and work against his program.

The sum total of the CFN predicitons would result in a 3-way tie for the East. UGA, SCar, and UF would all be 6-2 with one East loss and one West loss. It would come down to BCS ranking unless the 2 highest-BCS-ranked teams are within 5 spots, then it’s head-to-head. UF’s predicted OOC loss to FSU would push them to the lowest BCS ranking among the tied teams. UGA and SCar, both at 10-2 would likely be ranked close together, so the Cocks would go to Atlanta by virtue of the head-to-head.
While it’s certainly possible that we lose on the Plains, I think our toughest and most important games are in the respective Columbias.

It’s possible but unlikely IMHO. USCe has beaten the Dawgs the last 2 years and that is an anomaly. Three wins in a row by USCe over UGA? History doesn’t support that. Also, the Auburn game doesn’t look like a loss based on returning personnel and the 2011 outcome.

Playing Mizzou early probably helps. Their quarterback will have some catching up to do after surgery and that stud WR will miss not having some quality spring reps with him.
Playing uSC later in the season probably doesn’t help us as much as we had hoped. The lamecocks have a fairly sweet schedule leading up to the showdown with the Dawgs. Lattimore will be coming off of season ending knee injury and it will give him some more time to heal and ease back into football form. Doesn’t it take about year post knee op before a back is comfortable making those lateral cuts again. Which means the Visor will be running his back downhill into our defense. Somebody remind me of the total combined yards rushing UT,UF and the Barners had against that D. The uSC qb will have to make some plays. I think our Pastor of Disaster is gonna hold a revival meeting in the Gamecock backfield and introduce them to some old time religion.

CFN’s Staff is unimpressive concerning SEC knowledge. To predict the annual coin-toss game in Jax as a continuing win for us is folly and predicting losses to SC and (ugh!) Auburn is folly-er. Using last year’s reasoning prior to the Auburn game when predicting is like predicting the Yankees to win if we refought the War of Northern Aggression and the Battle of Atlanta. They would be nuked before getting to Oak Ridge.

Pac 12 fans may be the worst group of posters in the country. The arrogance doesn’t offend me. That’s what arguing over CFB is all about. It’s their way of using bastardized stats that makes me want to vomit. Paraphrase: “If you don’t count UA our ASU then the Pac 12 is 12-6.” And if my aunt had nuts, she’d be my uncle.

toughest games will most likely be florida and carolina. If we lose to Mizzou it’ll be because we didn’t come to play not because they’re good. This schedule won’t be as easy as it appears on paper but it should still be one of the easiest schedules in the past 10 years. If Georgia’s a legit championship contender in 12 we won’t have more than 1 loss heading to Atlanta.

Don’t forget that, in the SEC, any team can catch fire, play beyond their total talent and beat a better team in any given week. Never forget that when predicting. That said, the Mizzou, SC and FU games will not be easy and can go either way depending on a funny bounce of the ball, not attributable to coaching nor personnel. Auburn? Meh.

I cannot understand what would make a recruit, or his parents, respond positively to an ultimatum that prohibits visiting other schools. This is an absolute declaration that football is the only criterion the recruit should use in selecting a school and the coach doesn’t give a tinker’s damn about the recruits academic interests or future outside of football. It should also make them wonder what the coach is afraid of them seeing at another school.
Contrast that with CMR, who encourages kids (and parents) to look around and determine the best fit instead of acting like a used car salesmen with a crack habit.

+1. I, for one, would be so offended that I would reject the offer and sign with another school for that reason alone. It indicates the mindset of a coach that doesn’t care about the player as a person and disrespects the player’s and family’s right to make a decision based on all the factors of a school–not just football. It shows what a dick the coach is, but wait–after all we are talking about Urban Meyer so that is self-evident.

I s’pose this is one of those comments that can come back to bite you in the butt, but I actually have thought for some time that we were set for a run v the Gators. Specifically, right after we lost the ’10 game. We had fought back so hard that I thought the psychological jinx was gone. So I never really thought we were going to lose last year’s game. In fact, right before Alec Ogletree forced the fumble that resulted in Bennett’s dramatic 4th down catch in the end zone, I said to my son “somebody’s going to make a big play and then the Dawgs will take this game back for a long time.” We were due. Call me crazy, but I believe the cycle has cycled and we’re gonna own that series for some time to come.
But that doesn’t mean we’re gonna win ’em all next year. It’s early yet, but I smell a 10-2.

I agree with that “feeling”, but am gunshy enough and seen too many plain snakebit Georgia teams present them undeserved victories, that nothing surprises me anymore. While our D handled their O last year, it was not without feelings of trepidation when they connected for short pass gains. When they tied the score in the first qtr, my hair began to stand up on my neck because I had seen it before. Don’t get me wrong, I really thought we would and could beat them, but the snake of unlucky breaks has bitten us in that game before.
While we should beat them this year, they aren’t standing around waitin’ for it to happen. Their D will be better than last year.
