Good Lord, Jarvis Jones.
“Man we’re young,” he said of the Bulldogs’ defense. “I’ve still got this year and next year left.” [Emphasis added.]
I’m not sure we deserve that much good fortune.
That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t take it if it were offered.
Oh yes we do deserve that kind of fortune.

It’s really amazing how almost having a dream yanked away will affect people differently. Many would go for the money while the opportunity was there, but Jarvis seems intent on enjoying every minute of being the big man on campus. God bless him for it.

If JJ has the type of year I think he’ll have (SEC Defensive POY) and then comes back in ’13, he may challenge DJ Shockley as my favorite Dawg ever.

I agree with you Hobnail, we have had several quality athletes who were “true team” players, DJ was perhaps the best high profile example of this during the Richt era, but Jarvis could earn a place at the top if he were to max his time out by staying through 2013. He already has my respect for not only staying for 2012, but encouraging others who might have left early. I really hope he is rewarded with good health for the remainder of his playing career.

Let’s all say a prayer that he stays well, I would hate for any injury to befall him after all he’s been through.. He needs to make a lot of money when his time comes.

It is too much to hope for. But what if?!?
Just imagine how nasty that Defense will be and could be! Like hide yo kids, go to confession after, shameful kind-o-nasty!

It could be that Jarvis is a high character kid, and feels obligated to Richt. If that’s true, either clone him or bronze him
I hope our defense is utterly terrifying next year

A lot can change between now and the end of the season, but I like seeing a guy that just wants to enjoy playing ball at Georgia as long as he can. Kind of like Pollack did. That’s special. Even if he changes his mind, I’m not sure that means any of what I just said untrue…. He just seems like a kid that wants to achieve something besides a high draft position. Good on him.

If he has the kind of season next year that he had last year–then comes back for a senior year–he may have a chance to make history as the only defensive player to ever win the Heisman.

If JJ stays two more years, McGarity may have no other choice than to let us fans have a statue
