The ultimate Gator compliment

Florida running back Mack Brown, on getting hit hard in Florida’s spring game:

The Florida Gators had their spring football game yesterday and running back Mack Brown, after getting nailed, said, “He picked me good.  He Goldberged me.”  [Emphasis added.]

Sometimes even a Gator can only measure something by the way a Georgia player does it.

And, yeah, I’m thinking that may have to be the next Lexicon entry.

The guy probably doesn’t even know Goldberg played football.

I bet he does. But even if he doesn’t, we all know that you are a troll.

BD has been a pretty consistent poster for at least a year; he’s far from a troll. Mike (from FL) sometimes comes across as that, but all in good fun for the most part.

The Senator does a pretty good job at keeping the trolls under a bridge and away from the comments

BD is a reasonable man. No need to label him as a troll. I believe BD is missing the irony, but he’s no troll.

Judging by your name, Mike Cooley, you’re a reasonable man as well. Who knew such a skinny man could have such a deep voice.

We’re all trolls, in some way or another.

Does not qualify as a troll. A troll is someone dragging bait in the water and trying to raise angst level by pretending to be one of us. A good example occurs when the negative naysayers start bashing Richt and company, trolls come forward to take advantage by acting like UGA fans. Whereas BD and Mike have always been straight forward as representative of their team and discuss items with us that’s of interest to us all. They take shots as they give them, but mostly just have good info on a subject we may be discussing.

In real life trolls look very much like those who live under bridges in days of yore, wear ridiculous costumes with a yellow beany hat and still type in the basement of their parents’s home in Atlanta.

OK. So why else does a guy that calls himself “Bryant Denny”, using an Alabama avatar, post on a UGA blog if not to troll? Do y’all comment on alabama blogs? I sure don’t.

    • BD posts here because he likes the blog. He’s not a troll.

And, yeah, I’ve commented at his blog.

Mike, play catchup, man. We don’t go after people on here because they come from another campus; we go after them because those people are usually snuff dippin’, tobacco-chewing lamebrains who don’t write, but like many of us on here, won’t ever allow their egos to admit it. BD and Mike from FU aren’t like those people who sometimes identify themselves as Dawg fans. They write with the crowd and take absurd hits from ignorant people, I being one of them, but what would they expect here, accolades? Expect’em or not, looks like they got a few.

Add me to Bryant Denny’s character witnesses. Far from a troll, he has always been courteous and respectful on this blog, and even usually ends his posts with “Have a good day.”

A little late to the party but i too can vouch for BD as a good guy. Personally i think he adds to the discussion with his outsider’s perspective. Besides he hates Auburn, enemy of my enemy is my friend.

The after-accident /hospital photo of Petrino looks like he has been Goldberged.

If our O line just would make opponents look like they have been Goldberged……….

I’ve never heard the expression, but now, out of the mouths of babes……We have a beatdown symbol.

Hey folks – thanks for the kind words. I thought Mike was just having some fun. No big deal.

I visit here because it’s the best college football blog, period. The Senator has a post on most every relevant issue related to CFB and I enjoy the lively banter. Doesn’t seem right to visit a “UGA blog” and start a bunch of crap.

    Y’all hang in there.

I can immediately think of three reasons to defend you on this post:

      1. You are probably correct. I doubt the kid knew Goldberg played football – at Georgia or anywhere else.

      2. You are not a troll by any definition that I use. I’m glad you participate on this blog.

      3. You hate Auburn more than I do, if that is possible.
