Coach Richt, this aggression will not stand, man.

How long is Nick Saban going to tolerate Georgia offering in state kids before Alabama?

That’s shit he’s got time for.

These are just the prelims. Wait till we get an early 4 star commitment from Alabama.

What’s even funnier is the Krystal Ballers still think that Rueben Foster is going to Bama.

I still think Foster is going to Bama. It will take a TG recruiting effort similar to Jordan Jenkins to flip him. Can it be done? Hell yeah…but we’re certainly behind right now.

well right now I would be putting my money on TG making the turn over Smart and company. TG seems to talk the talk, and have his boys talking the talk as well…happy talk to be sure, but when Jones is breaking down the pre-snap read and it some coherent, that looks good. When TG talks to parents and players and NFL jargon, they like it.

If Jarvis Jones stays healthy and is the beast he should be this season, high school players around the south are going to be thinking that I want to be the next Jarvis Jones.

UGA just needs to win big this year and those kind of guys will hop on board.

Hope you’re right and I agree with everything you’ve said in theory. I just think that all of that has to carry out for Foster to flip. If we go 8-4 and flop this season and Bama wins the west, then I would expect to see Foster in Crimson in ’13.

no doubt. 4 losses this season and it nothing any of the coaches say will matter. anything short of the SEC title game is a disappointment.

Great, now the AJC is giving Bama recruiting hints.

I think Foster is going to Bama. That’s okay we’re going after a guy Chip Tower’s things is the bomb. Rufus Ballchinion is 5 star inside LB from Mount Saint Gertrude in Warsaw Poland and is insanely good.

This entire recruiting saga is out of hand when we are concerned with stars. Hasn’t anyone noticed that the last several players and a couple earlier don’t boast many stars? Why would we be offering and spending our time with these kids if they aren’t “Star worthy”? Because we assess kids through film and coaching connections, family and in some instances , the recruiting services, but it all comes down to these kids being targeted as long as three years ago.

If they get an offer, it’s because they have been fully assessed as players and have committed as such. The “star givers will come around and change their assessments thus far and catch up with coaching staffs that have been out there for years. Everyone should take the time to learn about our new recruits, not wait on a star system to make you have admiration for them and determine how they can help our team. Those assessments have already been made by the football coaching staff.

Then why are we about to hire chad Simmons if these recruiting services are so dumb?

      • Rumor has it that’s not going to happen now.

        Actually, more than rumor:

According to records obtained by The AJC, 126 people submitted applicatons for the job previously occupied by Charlie Cantor, who resigned last summer. Among those that were brought in for interviews included national recruiting analysts Jamie Newberg of ESPN.com and Chad Simmons of FOX Sports/Scout.com. However, indications are the Bulldogs now may have decided to go in a different direction.

“I don’t know who’s out there talking on it but Mark hasn’t commented on it and I haven’t commented on it,” McGarity said. “We’re the only two that are thoroughly involved with the process. We just haven’t made a hire at this point. There will be an announcement when a hire is made. Mark will identify that person and we’ll close that chapter and move on.”

Refer to the senators many posts and references. Stars do matter.

Yes, stars matter and Foster is thought to be the 2nd best player in the country. Foster is a guy UGA needs, Cojones. It’s not the end of the world if we don’t get him, but he’s a game changer.

Looks like the hire is not Mansell either.

Maybe we all should review the “study” on the star ratings and the eventual outcome of the player and the comments. Mine were that the stats didn’t fit as well as they were plotted if you read closely to what was included and not called outliers. My point is that the stars haven’t been assessed for many 2013 players that are being selected by the standards I outlined. Doesn’t mean they won’t be either.

We would be lucky to get Newberg or Simmons, but not from a star assessment. Many people will be plugged into a recruiting system that would allow their review by those two, along with others that are the better known players. I think their opinion of all recruits’s upsides remains their most important input.

Senator I guess the notion of 25 soft cap and 28 hard cap is thrown out the window. I could swear that the SEC put a hard number to total class size in order to address the over signing issue and control greyshirting

    • The SEC dropped the number of fall enrollees to 28 after Houston Nutt’s signing frenzy at Ole Miss in ’09 and then down to 25 this past year. That doesn’t matter for early enrollees however. Their signatures only are limited by how far under 25/85 you are from the prior signing class, which in Georgia’s case we have six spots to allow for early enrollees assuming no unexpected departures before the freshmen get on campus this summer.

I was under the impression we could only early enroll up to 5 guys, that on top of the 25 could sign in a calendar year means we can sign 30 max for the class of 2013 no? and @ cojones stars in the aggregate matter.

Mark Richt recruiting early and “protecting the borders” will soon become “Mark Richt is not doing enough to go after top out-of-state talent.”

Frankly, I find most of this recruiting “news” tiresome.
