Wednesday morning buffet

Something to get you through the start of another long offseason, since Justified wrapped up last night:

  • Bobby Lowder’s departure from Auburn’s board of trustees is final.
  • Kwame Geathers and John Jenkins are getting lots and lots of love this spring.
  • Now that Urban Meyer is safely out of state, Pat Dooley can get all courageous about Corch’s shortcomings.
  • On the other hand, you knew how Mike Bianchi was going to react to Matt Hayes’ piece.
  • It’s 2:20 in the morning at a Whataburger in the Florida Panhandle and an Auburn fan is chanting “War Eagle”.  Repeatedly.  What do you think is gonna happen?
  • Christian Robinson channels his inner Zooker, talks about not being distracted by “noise”.
  • Here’s a list of dos and don’ts for NCAA bowl advertising and promotional policies.
  • When it rains, it pours.
  • And in things you need to know, Bill Connelly gives you the poop on Missouri’s cornerbacks.

I realize using Jeff Schultz as a reference around here can net oneself a cyber kick-in-the-nutz, but “… just got run over by the karma train…” pretty well sums it up.

Just me, or do those guys seem to really be concerned about seeing a lot of different offensive sets next year, or rather the lack of 5-wide sets when discussing those cornerbacks? They seem to be really intrigued by that, or maybe even a little worried about it. Maybe that’ll help us getting them first out of the gate in SEC play.

This is the third high-profile player status article I’ve read from Mizzou. If nothing else, they write well to bolster players while not addressing any shortcomings. I’m beginning to look hard at Mizzou for what they DON’T mention in articles. How their pass D collectively is a little short against stalwart teams. They are also susceptible to the run. Their O relies on a QB who has to run. While Franklin has been getting fixed and healing quickly is a requirement for their schedule, I’m not sure they aren’t whistling through the graveyard. Maybe his running game will give the only problem to our D. If so, that is quickly and easily fixable at the outset.

Predicted Bianchi’s input, but the way he addresses the FU fans will not be tolerated. Some of those rednecks will burn him and his newspaper to the ground. Writing of a problem is one thing, but they will perceive his words as coming from an attack mode. Any school that will rush out, build statues and place soppy words into a plaque that is idolatrous of a College QB does not have alums or fans who muse over wise words or want to. The calumny that Bianchi’s blathering will have set into stone will be resonated through his anal opening if he doesn’t placate some fans with the other hand. Jus’ sayin’.

    Two things:

    1) Would love to read a hometown reporter report on some of the Florida-type events when they happen.

    2) Is it just me or are the Chik-fil-a sandwiches starting to taste extremely salty? Maybe I’m just getting old.

    Have a good day.
