Somewhere, Jimmy Sexton is grinning.

And the plans for Kirby Smart’s next raise are probably in the works now, too.

LSU is finalizing a new contract for defensive coordinator John Chavis that would pay him an average of $1.1 million over the next three years and make him one of the highest paid assistant coaches in college football.

If McGarity hasn’t sewn up Grantham’s new deal yet, I bet he wishes he had.

  1. Grantham’s had one good college defense. Chadovis has had at least 10

What the hell takes so long to do a contract extension, McGarity? Other schools can hire a new coach and completely new staff in the time it has taken them to work out Richt and Grantham.

Hey just because we take longer to sew up good coaches than it does Tennessee to lock up Dooley and his band of misfits doesn’t mean we’re screwing around. I’m fine with the process taking a whole as long as its done well.

One word: attorneys. I deal with them in business every day. They love running the meter and drag shit out into perpituity

Where the hell are those contracts that were finished over a month and a half ago except for “dotting the i s and crossing the t s” according to the AD. Something ain’t right here.

  4. 12 years ago, Sexton got Nick Saban hired for 1.5 mill. As a head coach.
