With the radio on…

I must say that in some respects, things are looking up for this football season.

Leach still has ESPN tied to James, whether they like it or not. I think they will keep him around, not for announcing, but rather for lawyer use. Then they will cut him and his insurer loose at the appropriate time to CTA.

Swing that sword mightily, Pirate, the booty is drawing nigh.

Today is a date that shall live in infamy

The world of entertainment lost not only a great performer but also a mind reader:

“It didn’t even bother her when she walked into a pre-game production meeting last fall with Penn State coach Joe Paterno, who wondered if she was going to be doing sideline reporting during his team’s game that weekend.

“He’s got a lot more things on his mind than who’s doing his game,” Ward said the other day. “I didn’t mind.”

    “I’m in love with Massachusetts…”

Another of our irritants removed. The only reason she didn’t bother me more is that I don’t watch a lot of Illinoi-Iowa games, and it seemed she was calling some matchup like that most weeks.

Pam Ward was and is the personification of wasted space on the sidelines.
