“That’s OK, though … because it’s all just a bunch of talk.”

Chris Low runs through the OBC’s greatest hits.

The Dawg fan who threw the cup of tobacco spit at Spurrier in ’95 needs to step up and take credit.  He’ll never have to buy a drink the rest of his life.

I don’t know how many times I’ve said it: The only thing I’ve ever minded about Spurrier was that he was always on the wrong sideline. He never said anything about Georgia that I wasn’t thinking at the time.

      Agreed. The truth hurts sometimes.

I have no idea why so many Georgia fans say this. The guy’s a total dick and he hates us with a passion. He can ESAD for all I care.

“Our real enemies are the people who make us feel so good that we are slowly, but inexorably, pulled down into the quicksand of smugness and self-satisfaction. “

Eh – if you didn’t embrace a little gallows humor in the 90’s, I’m not sure how you made it as a Dawgs fan.

My thoughts exactly. Almost everything he said about us was true.

that is absolutely correct, although it’s the manner in which spurrier said it that infuriated everyone. he could have shown more class and could have toned down his rhetoric, but I don’t believe I ever heard him say something blatantly inaccurate. and if you pay attention to him, you’ll know that he’s the first to criticize his team after a loss and is often quick to give the other guy credit. he can eat crow as well as any coach out there.

Well then, you were a good at that as you were a coach. It never hit Darth Visor. One of his assistants stepped forward and took the charge. That game was the only time I have stepped foot in the UGA football stadium. ‘Twas a glorious day in Gatorland.

Son,you have yet to even begin to understand the whole “glorious day” concept.
        just sayin’
Run Lindsay Run: Nov. 8, 1980, Georgia 26, Florida 21: Munson implores Lindsay Scott to go the distance with a 93-yard touchdown catch in the final seconds as the Bulldogs earn a comeback win on the way to a national title. “Run, Lindsay!” Munson says, later adding, “Lindsay Scott! Lindsay Scott, Lindsay Scott!” as he crosses the goal line. As he reflects on the touchdown, Munson tells listeners, “I broke my chair. I came right through a chair. A metal steel chair with about a 5-inch cushion. I broke it. The booth came apart. The stadium, well, the stadium fell down. Now they do have to renovate this thing. They’ll have to rebuild it now.”

  3. I think Darth Visor said one time at his Cocktail Party press conference that if Georgia had called after Dooley’s retirement, he would have been standing there as the head coach at Georgia instead of Florida. Everyone says, “He may be an SOB, but he’s our SOB.”

I still say Will Rogers never met SOS.

That is a true story. Spurrier also interviewed for the LSU job when Mike Archer was let go. He said he would have taken that job if offered.

And also too if Spurrier had not accepted the South Carolina offer around Thanksgiving Day 2004, before Saban accepted the Dolphins offer on Christmas Day 2004, Spurrier could have had an offer from LSU around New Year’s Day 2005, when The Hat accepted the LSU offer, although The Hat’s written resume was probably more readily available than Spurrier’s.

Being the truth is not reason enough to make negative comments about someone or something. Unless it’s solicited, or in a necessary context, it’s classless and reflects poorly on the dickhead who threw it out there.
