UGA AD Greg McGarity confirms Ohio State football series in 2020-21 cancelled after OSU pulled out. There was no contract, just MOU.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
It’s ok. We’ll probably play them in round three of the tournament that year. It will either be in Sacramento or Boise depending on which region we’re seded in.

In McGarity’s defense, it was OSU that pulled out. The cupcake that fills the vacant spot, on the other hand, will be all his.

well, you can damn well bet he won’t get a Division I FBS team.

Yeah, it was Ohio State who backed out. But McGarity would have found a reason if they hadn’t. Just like Oregon was in agreement. More Coastal Carolina garbage. Of course some folks are easy to please…a win is a win is a win. Can’t wait for the Clarke Central home and home.

So grow a pair and go out and talk to Michigan or Notre Dame, who you were talking to before.

Michigan has the same scheduling issues as Ohio State.

It also needs to be someone on the East so the Dawgs won’t have to fly across country which messes up practice time for the following week. FSU or Miami, maybe VA Tech? Those are possibilities. I’d be fine with a home and home with ND.

Sissies. I’d like to use a more appropriate term, but thought better of it.

Shouldn’t have said the above. Their scheduling has actually be very strong, although that may well change with the new staff. It’s just a shame that we’ve lost Oregon and Ohio State in the last couple of years. If you’re going to schedule out of conference, you should go all in on it. Unfortunately, I think the Colorado and Oklahoma State games have made it even easier for McGarrity to implement the Florida approach–which I don’t think is a good model for our program.

I like the cupcakes and seeing my team win games by huge margins. The tickets are easy to get, you can enjoy Athens before and after the game, and you see a W. Plus you can sit pretty much wherever you like.
I like the big games as well; Auburn and Florida last year were fun as hell. But seeing them run wild on NM State was fun too. Maybe I’m just easy to please.
