Way to go coach. Amazed how those writers get their panies in a wad over…over…perhaps…a gaffe. Coach, what those little girlie writers would like is for you to squat down, with a flower in hand, break off the petals one by one and say, “loves me, loves me not.”

But we have nillys here that actually feel thug is based on race. If it were, and I think not, it is meant against whites. It was a term used for tough guys when referring to wise guys, or union bullies. Not a reference to race at all and that is why it has been used for many decades to fit punks regardless of skin color. There are just people who cannot stand living a day without labeling someone. Just accept it, there are bad folks of all colors and they don’t need defending by some social BS that attempts to excuse it.

It is hard for me to get bunched up over this one. Let’s face it guys, there is a hip-hop culture (or whatever euphemism you want to use here) that is pervasive in today’s youth culture. It doesn’t necessarily mean that kids who are into that are sticking up liquor stores and stealing car radios. Black kids and white kids alike listen to rap/hip-hop and often times use language and embrace terms that none of us would use or identify with.

I am concerned that there might be a copyright infringement suit from Trooper Taylor and Curtis Luper at Auburn. I believe the phrase “Thug Love” was first coined to decribe running out onto the field with your hat turned backward swinging a towel trying to pump up the crowd after your prize bull just took another cheao shot.

Nice, but I consider Trooper to be a punk, not a thug. In another generation I can see him with pom poms. Guy ain’t no thug, acts like a sissy.
