The most obvious Musical Palate Cleanser I’ve ever posted.

Dedicated to the last five-and-a-half minutes of the first half of the Buffalo game:

Honestly, I was singing the first verse to myself as I left the stadium yesterday.

Good of you to repeat the pregame locker room music.

the one that popped into my mind and I thought of the musical palette cleanser.

Some real righteous Godfather there — man, but he could dress! Those boots look like some surreal lizard skin.

I was surprised at the defense appearing to be flat and undermanned at times, other than that the one good thing that may come from yestiddy is that the national championship blather, which was absurd anyway, should be quieted.

Nice to have 17 back, nice to see a running back who can make house calls (and yes, he has a 3 in his number). Nice to see the o-line has potential, at least.

I think this is going to be a pretty good team if we don’t let our own expectations get in the way of the reality of the situation. At full strength (if that ever happens) this could be a very good team.

A lot of folks now make me nervous which is not always a bad thing.

Bama and LSU are pretty good.

Brent Musberger is still a buffoon.

Fans and their expectations. My neighbor now believes his Vols will win the East. He flies a T Flag the size of a bedspread on his flagpole on game days. He once flew it together with the American flag ….but had the T above Ole Glory. My father (a vet) noticed and this put on his SAC cap and aviator glasses and went to discuss the error. When my son asked if his grandpa was gonna be aright I said ” My worry is not for your grandpa son.” My new uSC neighbor now boasts a 4.5 foot rooster in his yard. Calls it yard art. My new concern is my kids and their budroes and budras kidnapping the roster and placing it on Mr “T” s roof. I only have this concern because my bride told me she overheard them and thought I should know. I miss those days. Wonder if they would take me with them. ;-)

Shaped charges do wonders when placed at the base of flagpoles.
I have a friend who could help.

Please tell your father that unkind remarks about Curtis LeMay are unlike my respect for SAC pilots, 3 families of whom were befriended by my wife and children. Growing up in Sowega, our familiy friended them as well as TAC pilots; many who used to leave my father on their forwarded addresses, like family, whenever they moved or went into combat.

I want to give some credit to the Bulls. They were well coached and they played hard. I am glad they played so well against the Dawgs, who seemed to think this would be just another walk through.

Yup…and without their all-conference LB as well. Of course, I got to thinking that a bunch of the long UB runs (specifically QB broken field stuff ) would have been snuffed out by an activated FS Rambo.

We weren’t the only ones to struggle…the MAC made a strong conference showing yesterday around the league (particularly the MAC East). First game rust + missing 5 defensive starters + limited playbooks = yesterday’s performance. Other than being soft in the middle on defense, I think we’ll be ok this season. However, Tennessee looked the sharpest of all of us in the East and that is concerning.

Teen age wasteland is such a beatdown during pre-kickoff – my brothas deflate quickly!

Did Winwood play guitar or keyboards on that song?

Some one told me one time they thought they heard Lewis Grizzard say the only place hotter than hell is being seated in Sanford Stadium at midday in September. Does not take long for everyone to leave in the north stands when the temperature is only two degress from boiling and another coached team by Mark Richet looks like they rather be anywhere than between the hedges. No place in the state where geography and weather come together in blistering heat.
Is there any reason why the powers to be decide on this time slot to play these games in September. It borders on stupdity!
More injuries, mediocre play, and everybody just wishing to get the damn game over with before everyone passes out from heat exhaustion.
If this team plays Missouri like they did yesterday, they could return with a coaching staff on the “hot seat”. Is it not dumb founding that a three year starter at QB plays so inconsistenly in a game. A player that has had more coaching than any player on the field. Those other guys should easliy push him to the bench. I suggest they watch some film or games of the Camden County QB…he is going to change the role and dynamics of QBs in Athens.

  9. I have cancelled my advanced Hotel reservation for that Miami NC game in early January 2013 a few minutes past the end of the first half. I got all my money back. LOL
