Let’s summarize the state of quarterbacks across the SEC today, shall we?
- Gary Pinkel calls his quarterback out for refusing to take a painkiller to play in the Arizona State game.
- The other James Franklin benched his starting quarterback… for a game against Presbyterian.
- Conner Shaw reinjured his fractured shoulder blade.
- Tyler Wilson publicly called out his teammates for quitting in the Alabama game (which, granted, showed more fire and purpose than his head coached managed).
- Tyler Bray nailed a 104.97 passer rating yesterday in the biggest game of his college career.
- Kiehl Frazier’s stat line against UL-M: 10-18, 130 yards, 1 TD 1 INT. Sadly, that’s his best performance of the season.
- Kentucky’s Maxwell Smith tossed four interceptions against another Sun Belt Conference defense.
Not exactly what anybody had in mind with that “SEC – Year of the Quarterback” stuff, is it.
Missouri wins and Pinkel still calls out Franklin

I’ve gotten the impression that Pinkel is kind of an asshole. Sort of a Mike Gundy-type, a loudmouth.

That is the downside of the picture. On the other side of the coin, at UGA, Bama, and Florida things look pretty positive at QB. Can’t call Mettenberg’s performance yet given the lack of playing anyone but I still feel they are better at QB than they were last year. Saw some of the Old Miss game last night, their QB seems average at best but much better off than a couple of SEC teams I could name. Heh, Heh, Hee.

I still suspect Florida. 555 yards against Tennessee says to me that UTK’s d is truly awful, as we suspected. Let’s see how the Gators do against LSU.

Is it just me, or can you describe the Dawgs and the Gators pretty similarly this season?

Their defense are likely the same but UGA can be more explosive in offense.

I would add unless UGA has a significant personnel injury in the defensive side come JAX time, I will give BOBO a 7 point edge, unless he over thinks again.

Our O can beat their D. Our D can beat their O. Unless you think the leveling diff occurs in STs, there ain’t no similarity.

That Meteor Game the lizards played was reminiscent of how the Dawgs beat-down of Missouri turned out. I like our QB more however. He will prove the difference come Cockail time.

Don’t forget that McCarron – – who has looked really good thus far – – got banged up in the Arky assault, and looked to be wearing a brace on his hand. Moreover, Mr. Mett didn’t look too good in the blowout of the Potatopeople. I believe he had multiple picks in his time on the field.

The Missouri QB has even taken an aspirin. He sounds a little looney. I am with Pinkel on this one.

Quote from St. Louis newspaper:
“Nothing he does surprises me,” said Willie Franklin. “He’s never even taken an aspirin once in his life. In our family, we don’t believe in taking medication or trying to soften anything with any drugs.”
That pretty much supports what head coach Gary Pinkel said before and after the game. Pinkel said decisions about medical issues with a player and whether that player will play are always going to be up to the player and the medical staff, not the coaching staff.

Missouri: I saw some reports that indicated the back-up took the majority of first team snaps during the week. Year of the QB? Year of the Tossing Wounded.

Oh, no! We left’em with nightmares?
Percy had game-suspending migraines, didn’t he? Why not Franklin?
