Answer is, “well, yeah”.

Question:  do I want to live in a world where this week’s Coaches Poll has Georgia listed five spots ahead of South Carolina?

Let’s see: UGA one loss; USCe two losses. Which one should be ranked higher? What a quandary.

Is Disney World the place where next week’s Coaches Poll has Georgia listed ahead of Florida?

If so, it is time to pay a visit to the mouse.

It won’t last. And regardless of what happens in the Florida game, Georgia will lose to either Ole Miss, Auburn or Tech.

Well, it would be just like Richt’s teams to look all world beater next week, finish the year with one loss – go to the SEC championship, play great for one half, and engage in a train wreck loss in the second half.

    What a Jekyll/Hyde coaching career…

South Carolina can’t win the big game.

I know you meant that in snark, but if you look back at Steve Spurrier’s record, even before he started limping onto the field, Steve is not really stellar at that either….Georgia fans are always colored by his record against us.

I’m not sure if you were joking or not. I agree with the statement, though. Remember a few years ago when South Carolina was undefeated through 6 games, got all the way up to #5 in the country and then didn’t win another game? The Cocks team I saw lose to FU yesterday probably loses to Clemson and quite possibly another game remaining on their schedule as well. Arkansas seems to have come back to life and UT will beat somebody that the Vols are not supposed to beat before this season is over. It would be fine with me if all of ’em beat the Dicks…er…Cocks. A 7-5 regular season would look good on ’em.

      • Not sure if you’re joking or not either, but SOS always has had a slightly less than stellar record in the big games, if you define those as FSU + bowls from the UF years. You can look it up if you haven’t (probably already have lol). I always chalked it up to his single-minded desire to beat UGA and win the SEC. Not much else ever mattered to him despite what the fanbase thought and I don’t think he’s changed.

As biased as the computers polls are with their arbitrary beginnings, the results spit out by the geeks are far more qualified than the coaches to determine poll position. The coaches must have their ballots in by 9 AM Eastern on Sunday morning. So let’s see, Junior plays a game against Syracuse, say at night, finishes with the interviews, showers, catches a plane that leaves NY after midnight and arrives in LA around 7-8 AM. How much of Saturday;s action has he seen? Has he even seen the boxscores? Damned silly, and it counts for a third of the BCS. Wonderful system we have to determine success in CFB. Let the conference champions determine this and forget the polls.

I think SC belongs ahead of Lousiville and Rutgers. If UGA doesn’t beat FU, they will belong ahead of us next week. Spurrier has a habit of losing the big ones necessary to get his program to the next level. Has lost two big games this year, couldn’t even get by Auburn last year, and the one time he made the SECGC he got blown out. Time for the pasture old fellow, you have lost your ethics and now cannot win the games you need. You may have the best talent in the East but fall short again.

I think I remember he was pretty stout with discipline at FU. He suspended players, kicked them off the team, and didn’t around with who they were or what game was coming up. The new SOS is the one I dislike, he is a sad shadow of himself. Was a damned good coach at FU and Duke.
