Consistency, hobgoblins and the OBC.

If Florida wins in Jax, the Gators clinch the East.  That doesn’t seem to matter to Steve Spurrier.

Most SEC teams hope to wind up playing in Atlanta.  Spurrier coaches hoping that Georgia won’t.

All the more why I am tired of losing to his sorry ass.

Maybe he is planning to retire the FL soon. This statement and his other FL statement this week sure sound like it.

Dude is nearly 70 years old, ….cut him a little slack…He is still recovering from a complete ass whipping by a team that was a total dumpster inferno just one year ago. And a school where until late Saturday afternoon he was still considered a certified genius.

Steve is having a little trouble dealing with his own mediocrity.

If anybody ought to understand the propensity for inanity following a complete ass whipping, you would think it would be us.

Help me here- even if we & Mizzou beat fla, thats all the sec games they have left, giving them only 2 losses & the win head to head vs Sakerlina. By my math it’s either us or fla, so he can pull for whoever the heck he wants cuz their basically eliminated, right? What am I missing here..

      Three team tie breakers.

    • Spurdog has to hope for a three-way tie at the top of the East to have a shot. That starts with Georgia winning Saturday.

Ok, thanks guys. Man that sounds complicated. I just hope we win but I dont have a good feelin. Must need a new hat..

What chu do, dude is to go to the hat store, right….go to the row of Georgia hats….close yer eyes and pass your hand slowly over the hats, if one of them “feels you” buy it. If none of them do, they are probably not official hats and will be worn by offensive linemen, if you get my drift.

          It is complicated.

Basically, he has to hope for a three team tie at 6-2 all around. That would give it to South Carolina by other tiebreakers. Florida would first be eliminated due to having two divisional losses (since their only other second SEC loss can be Mizzou). SC would then hold the head-to-head tiebreaker over us, no matter who our second SEC loss would be to.

At least the potential three way tie wouldn’t go down to BCS tiebreakers this year…

I hope Bill Stanfill gets a kick out of still being in spurrier’s head for 46 years.

To give him the benefit of a doubt, Spurrier may be having some feelings for ole Alma Mater, but it’s still 100% true that he could have more championships than the Yankees and Georgia would be his white whale.

Awwww…sorrry Stevie. No SECCG for you this year.

Lattimore’s gone after this season. Then Clowney next. This was the year if it was going to happen.

The “glory years” of USCe come to a halt with a blowout in the 2010 championship game to show for it

You know, the Ol Ball A$$ may hang a hundred on us, whip us good, break the hedges, whatever. But to see that we are ALWAYS in his head just let’s me look up from the mud and the blood and smile. 🙂

I hope he gets buried near a golf course, so I can take a well aimed pee….

It’s heartwarming of the thought that Spurrier still hates us that much. No matter how much he wins, he’ll never be able to get us out of his head.

  13. Spurrier spends 12 months a year planning on how to beat the Dawgs. Of course he wants the Dawgs to lose.
With the Defense the Dawgs have, Spurrier is going to get his wish.

UF is Spurrier’s alma mater. That is it. He may dislike UGA, I doubt he cares that much. Bottom line is that he is going to root for UF against pretty much everyone but the team he is coaching.

Nah. He just wants us to feel as miserable as he feels now.

If nothing else, I hope the message board in the locker room carries all his sentiments and we use it to keep clean all summer and to get ready to kick his ass in the first game next year.

Best revenge? NO SUSPENSIONS before we play him.

Cojones–I guess I was refering to the fact that some were saying they were pulling for fla against sakerlina—I will never pull for fla–we are the same age-I grew up watching us beat them even when they were a stronger team-I do understand your message to me however !—somehow I think it means more to our generation–I pray we come out on fire–by the way I spent some time in the Army before graduating in 79

I was in during early 60s, when Nam was official as a war. My good friend in Law School and Athens native was in at the same time and was the Provost Marshall of Da Nang. He had a much touchier job than I did, having never been “in-country”. “Great” Scott was also Army before he played at UGA.

Concerning college/Army, I had the great pleasure of signing two early-outs for two drafted guys in order that they could return to their interrupted college career plans. One, my jeep driver for payrolls, was a conscientious objector and when I asked him why he range-qualified with a 45 pistol and was a CO, he replied that he had to wear it for payroll pickup (as did I) and if we were held up, he was familiar enough with the weapon to load and pass it to me. Made sense and we both trusted my aim. Good guy, as were many we never will hear of again from that era.

Is now a good time to confess that I pulled for FU? Mightily. I wanted the Dawgs to get another chance. Now let’s see what they can make of it.

Ft Lewis was an open post so the prevention of robbery on post was real. Several years later there was a payroll robbery there.

Once again he is irrelevant before the end of October. Why even quote him? Like Granny Holtz, time has passed him by. No standards, no class, and no rings. Hit the road jack.

No rings? What do you define as rings? Cause Holtz and Spurrier both have NC’s to their name.

      • Macallanlover

Comment was about SC’s program but since you bring it up, there is no NC so rings are fake claims. However, SOS does have SEC rings from his coaching time at FU….but none for playing there. I guess Holtz won a conference title somewhere, but not in the SEC (SWC?). Not sure. But it is obvious you can apply all the negatives being used against CMR against SOS, dude has forgotten how to coach.

Ol’ Lou has three conference titles. 1970 William & Mary, 1973 NC State, 1979 Arkansas. That W&M team went 5-7 too.

Thanks. I spent some time around him about 20 years ago. He wears on you real quickly. Always been surprised that 19 year old street kids didn’t see right through his thin “act”. Lots of the same one liners, day after day. Not a nice man, very narcisstic.

Maybe he wants UF to win so that he doesn’t have to play Bama. A UF victory assures SC won’t be sacrificed at the altar of Lord Saban.
