Wake me when it’s over.

Admittedly, I haven’t been a close follower of the Heisman since Peyton got screwed, but really, is there anything more pointless than the hyper, week-to-week speculation about who’s gonna take home the trophy?

    Agreed. A month ago, Jarvis Jones was a Heisman “front runner.” Not that I am criticizing JJ’s recent play, but this early season Heisman talk is as pointless as pre-season polls.

      Don’t worry, they will always fall back to Barklett (named after a chewing gum) at USC to return miraculously to the fore. Just wait. I haven’t seen anything in two-three weeks, but I’ll bet good money that ESPN will push that elephant all over the internet.

      He’ll win three Heismans before it is all over! Even with just two remaining years of eligibility. Honestly, that guy seems lucky sometimes to clear the line of scrimmage with his passes.

    Of course the essence of the above post is that Georgia has not had legitimate candidate since Herschel…were that not true, my attitude might be revised upward.

    Hard to beleive the Heisman still carries this much “prestige” by many. Best player at each position is more significant. Heisman is for the top QB or RB on select teams. The real winner is who gets in the Top 10 NFL draft spots, although that may not be the best player during that year, but those young men are the true winners. And it isn’t the result of a popularity contest, or a marketing campaign.
