It looks like Deion Bonner won’t be packing his bags for Alabama State after all.
No charges will be brought against Tennessee freshman cornerback Deion Bonner in connection with a cellphone theft on campus last week.
The case will drop to inactive status, UT spokesperson Margie Nichols said Thursday, and the alleged victim in the case does not wish to pursue charges.
Perhaps it’s best to look at the seamy side of Tennessee football as a continuing episode of Law and Order where Jack McCoy’s witnesses keep getting amnesia.

These type of things really grind my gears. How can people honestly cheer for a team that is so blatantly unethical and prioritizes nothing but winning at the expense of morals. It seriously boggles my mind.

Whether Bonner got his criminal case dropped or not his actions were still the same. CMR didn’t wait to see if Crowell’s gun charge got dismissed, reduced or pretrial diversion, did he? He did what he did and the facts didn’t change just because he got a good lawyer who saved his bacon on the criminal charge. That’s the difference between the SODs and Lester Miles of the world, and CMR.

My favorite is always talking to the fans of said teams whose players act a fool, the law is on their side in their town and chooses not to press charges/lawyers makin’ plays, etc., then the coach acts like the player did nothing wrong and reinstates him with no questions asked. Then the fans take up for him and throw the “he was found innocent, charges dropped” card. I never once defended or took sympathy for Crowell, Ealey, King, and all of their ilk because they are morons who did things that are so stupid, there is no deffense of it…by anyone who is realistic and/or has any sense of morals or ethics. Then again I guess I shouldn’t throw Tennessee or Auburn fans into the mix on that.

Not really. Whether “time to die” charges, or stolen cellphone charges, or cop stomp charges, or kicking the marine charges get dropped on not is NO different (in fact, may be less sinister) than other crimes. You either have discipline, and support it, or you watch things decay. TN fans have been excusing bad behavior for a long, long time and it has helped bring them down. Remember when Foolmer interceded with a rape victim? Or gave a RB a 4th pass on failed drug charges. And you want to be Dr. Spock and forgive all this? Poor babies. All programs have this crap going on, I am pleased we don’t turn our backs on it.

He’s a legend in Georgia rock history though not a household name. First band was mid 60’s group King David andthe Slaves. Plays tons of instruments but is most known for his sax. Toured extensively with traffic & Peter Gabriel. Maybe the Stones too? Down to Earth guy. If you get the chance, see him live.

You’re good. Ever wander in the Last Resort…. back in the day? The type of sax he played for Gabriel (tenor sax?) he had never played before. Apparently that didn’t matter cause he got the gig. I caught the tour/show in Chastain Park. Gabriel introduced RB and he asked him to sing one of his songs. I thought that was pretty decent. He is a talented musician. He played with Sea Level at the Georgia Theater and early on did some studio work with Cowboy (Scott and Tommy). Now who remembers Cowboy? I guess anyone from Cochran might.

I had just moved back stateside from a 2 year deployment, and that was my 1st UGA home game in 5 years. That is by far my greatest memory at a home game. Downtown was freaking insane that night. I ended up making out with a 20 ( I was 31 at the time) year old hottie at that little hole-in-the-wall next to Toppers. I think it was Bobo Fetts at the time?

Reading the article about this case gave me a headache. You have one UT spokeperson saying she does not know the circumstances how Bonner came to be listed as a suspect and Dooley saying “he has no evidence that Bonner did anything wrong”.
Soooo you are actually going with the Sgt. Schultz defense. I must remember to use that some time.
All that was missing was Dooley saying that every time someone tried to give him any evidence he put his fingers in his ears and hummed really loudly.

Good point. We can certainly all agree that free cell phones is a legitimate use of government resources. I think it’s in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution. “Congress shall have the power to establish Post Offices, raise Armies, give away cell phones, etc.”
The real question should be Apple, or Android? I mean, we certainly shouldn’t look at such a program as an example of the mentality that has led to entitlement spending that currently has unfunded liabilities of over $100 TRILLION. That would be unsophisticated.

You try to sound like a smart guy but the fact is that you miss the most basic observation which is that it isn’t free cell phones that are killing america, it’s the entitlement society and the attitude that the parasites and takers are owed something. That they would rather see the handouts continue rather than see the country curtail and control the redistribution of wealth. Such arrogance and selfishness. Sure, some people need assistance, but this woman demonstrates an attitude that you so conveniently ignore, and that attitude is exactly what will eventually bankrupt the greatest democracy the world has ever seen. Do you think the Obama voter in that video wants to find common ground? How many videos have you seen that illustrate a conservative demanding government assistance? Do YOU support the woman’s views?
