I’m going to laugh pretty damn hard if Dooley comes back next year. All of the UT fans think his firing is a foregone conclusion (and they are probably right) but it would be such a dose of urine in their breakfast cereal if the powers that be gave him another year. Honestly I expected the axe to fall this week. Hopefully Hamilton gave Dooley the photographs of UT board of regents members in compromising positions that protected Hamilton all of those years before he left.

“photographs of UT board of regents members in compromising positions”

Pish. This would never work at Georgia b/c they aren’t photographs, they are acrylic portraits displayed in the “master suite” of a mansion.

It’s hard for me to tell what would be worse for UTk at this point: three coaching changes in almost as many years OR leaving Dooley’s and Co. in place for another season. Either way, doesn’t sound too awesome, does it?

Isn’t that Doug Gillett the most silver-tongued(in a good way, not sarcastic) pundit you have ever read?

Most of your posts are chirpy and upbeat. Thanks! DGD!

Tech will play all of it’s starters and Deion Bonner will remain on the team.

“Re: IYO, does Ugaly hold back (starters) for our game since They kept their defensive starters in against Auburn, so I think not!” -AlBeedam

Been watching UGA’s conference games, have they? Just goes to prove the accuracy old joke: What does a Tech fan have in common with a UGA fan? They’re both obsessed with UGA!

I agree with CTG playing for the shutout as long as Auburn kept their starters in. Had it been 52-7, I would say pull them but shutouts are rare and Cheetzik knew it, that is why his starters were in. If anyone needed to see different players on the field it was the Aubies’ offense. Fair to say their starters aren’t getting it done.

Ain’t it nice that that action alone may have broken the back of any substantive move to keep Chit (Latino pronunciation of another word) and ensured his departure? The reverse is to castigate Grantham for getting rid of him when we really want him to be here one more year for game and recruit purposes.

By the way, D, thanks for the historical memory.

I agree. While reading that, one thing stood out to me…Tech fans ARE OCD about UGA. They also seem to have little or no confidence in their own program. There is no joy in Geekville.

You are so right. It is a testament to how pathetic they are as a fan base.
They get more joy from a Georgia loss than they do from a Tech win.

Geekville sounds eerily similar to Gainesville, where the nerds used to rely on for vicarious satisfaction. No is no joy in Gainesville now, either.

If you haven’t clicked on the USC-UCLA link, do yourself a favor and hit the link and pull up the 2 videos that Kiffin & Mora did to send a message to their fans to promote good sportsmanship for this game. Kiffin is exactly how you’d expect – completely unconvincing, read straight off a cue card. It’s almost as if he’s subliminally saying “don’t listen to a word of this, I’m being forced to do this and I hope you punch the first 5 UCLA fans you see.” Mora’s is much smoother and UCLA was smart to incorporate game clips while he’s talking so he’s not forced to stare at the camera the whole time. Bonus points for Mora for referring to USC as “Southern Cal”, a name USC doesn’t use anymore when referring to itself. Never heard why they don’t like it but you know he did that on purpose. Well done.

I don’t know why but even though his time in the Atl was frustrating, I have always liked Mora. In contrast to Kiffen I guess most anyone would come off favorable to me. And yes, I agree to everything you said here.

Doug Gillett- He sees what we see, a really good D-1 team that can whip anyone on any given night.

Well, Southern Cal didn’t say they wouldn’t stab the logo at halftime. Think I’ll watch that game just to view the halftime program (if I get a chance).

Good for Saban. His words hype us most of all since we are the only team at this time that is designated to be in that game.

Here’s a funny thought…which fan base will get to swallow their tongues in the off season after their team hires one (or both) of Auburn’s dynamic duo ‘cruiters?

Sure hope it ain’t us. 🙂

    Have a great day,

    BD

I am confident you can count us out of that hire also. Just not Mark’s, nor our program’s style. He has helped bring down two SEC traditional powers already, next stop LA?
