This week’s biggest challenge lies ahead for…

… the folks at StingTalk, who have to pivot from hoping that Georgia is looking past the Jackets to the SECCG – like that’s worked before – to savoring the possibility of ruining the Dawgs’ postseason chances.

It won’t be easy, but I think they’re up to the task.

How pathetic is the ACC? Tech will win the Coastal division after getting pounded by 21 by Sunbelt MTSU who lost to 1-AA McNeese St.

I didn’t like the way we looked in the first half at defending the HS offense but loved the adjustments/results in the 2nd half. As some have said, we need to stop the 1st/2nd down efforts or they will run 4 plays every series and we will stay on the field all day. We seemed to be so conscious of lane discipline that we didn’t get any penetration to disrupt the TO. In the second half we seemed to get some contact behind the LOS and they were pretty much neutered until the 2nd team came in. Good effort, not many major injuries, that is about all we can hope for after the W. One more week of this crap. I hate GT and GSU for not being man enough to play big boy football.

+1 and +1. What really infuriated me was those two idiot broadcasters proclaiming how well the defense was playing while GSU was driving for the lead at the end of the first half.

I’m no expert, but it looked like Jarvis made an adjustment in defending the QB in the second half. Seems like he took a half step into the pitch lane as he defended the QB, which disrupted the timing or angle of the pitch. Whatever it was, it worked nicely.

Yep. Looked like he usually had responsibility to turn the QB in but was cheating too much on the pitch man in the first half, resulting in stopping neither. Second half he just decided to destroy the QB and it worked better. Hope he starts that way vs Tech, especially since they like to throw a little more than GSU.

Making the QB commit and pitch earlier allowed our perimeter guys to attack and get to the pitch man before he turned up field. That gave us some tackles behind, and at, the LOS. Big difference and it gave them 3rd and longs they couldn’t handle.

UGA vs GT score the week before UGA in the SECCG…

    2002: Georgia 51, Georgia Tech 7
    2003: Georgia 34, Georgia Tech 17
    2005: Georgia 14, Georgia Tech 7
    2011: Georgia 31, Georgia Tech 17

UGA vs GT score the week before GT in the ACCCG…

    2006: Georgia 15, Georgia Tech 12

In games where neither team plays in their league championships:

      2001: Georgia 31, Georgia Tech 17
      2004: Georgia 19, Georgia Tech 13
      2007: Georgia 31, Georgia Tech 17
      2008: Georgia Tech 45, Georgia 42
      2010: Georgia 42, Georgia Tech 34

You could just say that Georgia beats Georgia Tech almost all the time, sometimes by a lot of points.

On page 2 of those posts., one GT fan thinks the tech D will keep our scoring low bc GT just held Duke to under 30 and Duke has a great offense.

It takes a very finely-tuned sense of delusion to be a Tech fan at its highest level. It’s really quire extraordinary in the best of them.

Funny chit over there. They have beaten Duke and UNC so the Jackets are back! Good grief, need to beat those asshats by fifty so they remember who they are.

    RE: THIS IS OUR DREAM!

    Nattering nabobs of negativity

Even with the ‘Swiss Cheese Defense’, Tech wins this one big. Better GT teams than this one have lost to worse Dwag teams. The tables are turned now.

ugag does not, repeat, does not, have a good defense.
