You’re not in the Big Ten anymore, son.

I guess Bret Bielema thinks this is a clever argument, but…

“The reason the SEC is talked about all the time is one team, because of their dominance. But I didn’t come here to play Alabama. I came here to beat Alabama.

“You can take Saban’s record when he was at Michigan State and when he was a coach in the Big Ten and put it against mine, and he can’t compare.”

The SEC finished with four teams in the top ten last season.  I can’t wait for somebody to start comparing Bielema’s and Saban’s SEC records after this season plays out.

He DOES have a bit of a point. When Saban was at MSU and in the Big 10 and was unable to oversign and have a University collectively fellate him, he was a pretty pedestrian coach

Congrats, Biels. You just sicced the other 12 SEC schools on your team. And you also pissed off Bama. Both are bad ideas.

The team Saban took over had not had a winning season in 5 yrs and the team Bielema took over had been to the Rose bowl the year before, (in sarcastic fonts) so the talent level was so even at the two schools. Something tells me Bielema will be on the other side of the coin on this go around, lets see how he does.

Bret is like Lane without the comedy. He will have to up his game before the Destin Spring Break and SEC Media Daze. Points to Bret though on his 3-for-1 by elevating himself over and above Nick without a mention of Irvin or The Hat.

No Qb, No Rb, & No D….of course Arky can take care of Bama this year.

I’ve been hearing this same argument by Big Ten fans: “It’s not really SEC dominance but Alabama dominance.” YET they forget 4 different SEC teams have won BCS titles during this streak. You have to go back 60 years to find 4 different Big Ten teams winning a national title.

Big Ten fans can be hard headed. It’s pretty hard to ignore fourty percent of the top ten being from one conference, and a couple more knocking on the door to break in.

Big Ten fans are as delusional as they come. The reality check of the last 6 years has been really hard on them.

When September rolls around and you can sense and smell the coming of autumn which brings us back to another football season, I really miss hearing the voice of two people talk about football.

One is my Dad and the other is Larry Munson.

Don’t his comments kind of say that the SEC really is great and that Saban’s just not so great?
That is: Saban wasn’t a good coach until he went to the SEC where everything is better.

I went back and read it again, and now I see what you are saying. I guess reading comprehension is not a strength for me.

  12. All you have to do is win. If you beat Alabama consistently, then you get the bragging rights. Until then, lets’ count National Championships.
