The downside to a decided schematic advantage

Charlie Weis is a born salesman.

Honestly, the surprise isn’t that the arrogant ass said that.  It’s that somebody keeps paying the arrogant ass to coach.

Seems a bit hard to believe even for him, honestly…accurate though it may be.

Charlie Weiss is the biggest con artist in the history of college football. 3 more years and he will have worn out his welcome in Kansas and then what? Will yet another program fall victim? Someone on this blog, the Senator I think, said it best: “There ain’t no cure for stupid.” PT Barnum made an appropriate statement, too: “There’s a sucker born every minute.”

The only difference will have been that at KU, he can’t have broken anything, as it was already broken beyond recognition. Wonder who the next arrogant, super-fat coach will be for KU? Rex Ryan?

To paraphrase H,L. Mencken, nobody ever went broke under-estimating the stupidity of university athletic directors.

I once knew the chief of staff for a famously screwed-up federal agency who went around making what everybody called “the we-know-we-suck speech.” It built some good will, but very briefly.

Youall should be ashamed of yourselves. Would FU have fallen for the “How many Superbowl rings do you see?” thingy as an indication that he can coach and mentor young kids (God was against him at ND)? Not FU ; – First, he would have to rely on more suction to begin mentoring his own considerable ass.

Mike, tell me it ain’t so!
