Garrison Smith is quite taken by freshman running back Brendan Douglas.
I reserve the right to borrow the phrase “the white Adrian Peterson”. LOL.

“We remember the Sugar Bowl, I think it my junior year of high school, we let Alabama beat us twice,” Brinson said of a team that also lost to the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship game. “We’re not letting Alabama beat us twice. In the Sugar Bowl in 2018, they… thought they should have been in the playoffs and lost to Texas.” -- AB-H, 12/27/23
Technically, the answer would be Kyle Karempolis. More broadly, the last time a caucasian was the feature back would probably be Glenn Harrison. I think it is a bit premature to coin him the next anything until he puts on the pads and goes against the 1s! That said, if he is in fact a good ball carrier, there are many ways he can help this team.

Since Karempelis already got mentioned, and if we take out walk ons or FBs in a TB role for a play or two, I’d say the correct answer is Brett Millican.

Didn’t Brannen Southerland line up at TB when we had some injuries a few years ago?

Yes. Brett Millican was our leading rusher in 2000.

I heart Garrison. We are recruiting at a different level. It is the biggest difference Bobo’s promotion (and I believe he’s been given more authority of late) and Grantham have made on the program. We get players. It’ll be interesting to see where Douglas ends up. Somebody’s gotta be 3rd team RB this season, and w/ Sony and Nick coming in next year, there’s no reason to redshirt those guys. Let’s see who can play.

Garrison is hilarious, BTW. Definitely one of the guys on the teams you would want to hang around, and had a quiet but solid season last year. One to root for.

“Poulos”……from Towers HS in DeKalb County. Met him years ago when he was refereeing church league basketball games in Decatur. Really nice guy, very unassuming, and he was a hell of a good RB for UGA!

A big part of Donnan’s win over Fulmer and the goal posts travel from the stadium. Small controversy over the potential of a “white running back” in the SEC in the media. Similar to the rhetoric of a black qb……. Black qb’s have prospered.

That’s racist.

Yes, but more about perceived racism at the position. How many kids hope to be the greatest running back ever and who their idols are at that position vs kids who hope to be the greatest QB ever and who their idols are. Most of the great running backs were/are black while most of the great QBs were/are white. It’s differentiating when we see great white RBs and great black QBs, not racism.

Don’t judge a man by the colour of his skin but by the content of his highlight video. And maybe by the music that is dubbed over said video.
