“Where’s the talent? Where’s the offensive talent?” Pollack, now an ESPN college football analyst, pondered at last month’s SEC Media Days.
“I can name three receivers from Alabama and three receivers from Georgia off the top of my head that would be the No. 1 guy for Florida.”
So the issue for the Gators this year may not be that the game is slowing down for Jeff Driskel, but whether it’s speeding up fast enough for the receiving corps.
But not too fast.

I’ve got little use for Pollak the analyst even though I loved Pollak the player. But that is funny. Assuming that the gator spiral continues as it appears it will there just aren’t sufficient words to describe how great it is. From the initial whistling past the graveyard that came with Boom’s hire up until now the gator decline has been delicious. You could have never convinced any Florida fan that the success wasn’t gonna past forever just a couple of short years ago. It’s fun seeing them getting a turn at being the ones talking wistfully about by gone days.

Honestly, I thought Muschamp did a good job last season. Part of the reason he’s saddled with a dysfunctional offense is because a lot of Meyer’s players don’t fit into what UF runs now. And Boom’s recruiting like a sumbitch.
I wouldn’t write him off yet.

Frankly, looking back I am amazed that the Gators won as many games as they did last season. Can they do it again with smoke, mirrors, a good D and fumble recoveries? I’m betting “no.” 8-4 regular season tops and that’s if they get by Miami and Vandy.

I sorta like Pollack as a analyst. He is differently NOT a homer. But that makes him a little more worth listening too. Too many of the analyst are homers, you just mute them when they speak…

Agreed that he isn’t a homer. It’s something else. I can’t put my finger on it but he just gets on my nerves. He’s MUCH better than he was on the radio though.

As for Boom I just don’t buy it. Recruiting has never been an issue there and they love to brag about all the talent they have. I just don’t think he’s much of a head coach.

Pollack is definitely one of my top 5 Dawgs of all time. I’m not sure what all of the fuss is about with him as an analyst. His biggest downfall is probably being alongside Jesse Palmer every broadcast. Palmer’s a goob, but shouldn’t that make Pollack easier to deal with? I dunno, but I think he does a fine job personally.

if the reason the game is “slowing down” for Driskel is that his offensive weapons (sic) are just…well….slow, does it really count? Here’s hoping the UGA defense goes after him like a bunch of coked out squirrels come November.
