    “I don’t get near the hate from the Georgia side I used to get,” said Spurrier. “It’s hard, you’ve got to realize it’s hard for Georgia to really get mad at South Carolina. They’ve got so many teams they’re mad it or are mad at them. It’s hard to get another big rival for Georgia. They’ve got Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn. They almost had a fight with Vanderbilt a couple years ago, some of their coaches, at least…We still haven’t beaten them enough for them to sort of circle South Carolina. But we’ve been fortunate the last few years.”

    I have not listened to local sports or read the sports section the past two weeks. I live in Greenville and it has been painful. Hopefully things go our way Saturday and I can relish watching and reading.

    I may not have hatred for USCe, but I have plenty of enmity for SOS. I have 3 wishes for him: First, I hope his handicap goes over 50, Second, I hope the fleas from 1000 camels infest his groin, and lastly, I hope his wife’s legs grow together. How’s that?

    I don’t know, I definitely hate South Carolina. Even before we started embarassing ourselves to them on a yearly basis they were by far my least favorite group of people to have in Athens.

      It’s odd to me how much the Smiths and R.E.M. have in common, emerging from completely different environments on separate continents, each with a batshit crazy singer, jangly retro-style guitarist, great bassist, and a ton of great songs. I’m a big fan of both.
