Back in the late ’60s, when the baseball season wasn’t nearly as long as it is today, one of us always managed to sneak a transistor radio into shul on Yom Kippor so we could keep up with the World Series while taking a break from the day long and somewhat trying orthodox services.

I married into a Jewish family. I feel blessed to be the one that stays home during services next week. I get all the beer and TV to myself. L’chaim!!

I feel ya. My wife’s grandmother immigrated from Lithuania. Quite a story. Her mom grew up in Ohio. Married a service guy and he moved to Georgia in the Civil Service at RAFB. We met in junior high and started dating in HS. Anyhow outside of my wife, mom and sister I haven’t been closer to another woman.
