because I thought that the note at the bottom of the article about the energy markets was more important than the Johnny Football aspect.
Obviously having a good football team is good for the bottom line. Having a great player like Manziel is also good for the bottom line. I doubt that UGA could expect that sort of increase if Gurley II gets the needed votes in December.

If that number is correct, aTm raised in one year an amount that is almost equal to UGA’s total endowment.

1) Energy markets have been as strong or stronger before. AM still 70% over previous high water mark. So something else is clearly in the mix.
2) Texas donations are down. Way down. Last I checked, lots of donors there making lots of money off energy markets, too. They are just not writing checks at the moment.
What’s different about Texas and AM right now? Hmm. That might take some research.
Or maybe Andy Fastow got back into accounting.

Georgia-LSU is a match of top ten teams, so I think that’s the way CBS will go. But if CBS exercises its six-day option today, that would make me think the network is leaning towards ‘Bama-Ole Miss.

Bama-Ole Miss is my guess. One reason is to check out the 10/5 SEC slate. If UGA loses to LSU, CBS could be forced into taking 2-2 Georgia at 2-2 Tennessee. The 10/5 slate is terrible.

We’ll see. While Tenn is a hot mess, UF could be bad enough on offense to keep them in the game long enough. Either way, the choices are slim. It could very well be Ole Miss-Auburn. Both a 3-1, but both unranked.

It’s not like Oregon hasn’t gotten their shot against the SEC champion recently. And, Oregon should probably beat Stanford (which, btw, they play at Stanford on a Thurs night) and win their own division before calling out their BCS championship game opponent. Edward Aschoff is a hack.

I think he’s a freshman playing against top ten opposition. He’ll make an impact (or two) in the near future. I don’t think there’s anything in particular wrong.

That Louisville schedule IS downright pathetic.
I think Kentucky proved how problematic playing decent competition would be for Louisville. This is a team that started with basically nothing, playing it’s second game, and they have no offense.
But I doubt many voters will put that together.

“The team that got left out” is a stock character in the morality play that is CFB sports media and one with real benefits. Ask Brian Kelly is he prefers being the program that got left home for the MNCCG (Cincy) or the program got left in the dust in one (Notre Dame).
I think Louisville could play the part well, but right now they are an alternate. Looks like someone(s) with a really strong 11-1 record is(are) going to get left out in the cold this year.

Georgia and LSU will play on Sept. 28 at 3:30 p.m. in the showcase CBS national game of the week, The game between the No. 9 Bulldogs and No. 6 Tigers in Sanford Stadium would be the third top-10 opponent for Georgia already this season, assuming LSU gets by Auburn at home this Saturday.
