IMHO Bobo has cost us two games this year. Clemson for calling 3 runs on the goal line into an 11 man box for no gain and Vandy for generally f*ing up the whole 2nd half.

I just watched the vandy game again and before we let them score we was snapping the ball with 19 seconds on the play clock and at 15 and 12 what is wrong is everyone is use to the hurry up offense that we {Georgia} doesn’t know how to milk the clock.

I rewatched it the other night too and noticed our defense once again was not set prior to a lot of snaps during the 2nd half. Going from memory we weren’t on the final score by VU.

Not so sure about this one. Of course Richt will always say they are more keen to take downfield shots. Half the point is to have the threat so that they are more reticent to stack the box.
When your receiver corps is so thin that the D can afford to double cover Chris Conley (a fine receiver, but should not be a UGA #1 just yet), you just don’t have a lot of flexibility. Was anyone actually seeing cases where receivers were getting separation back there?

If we had taken said shots down the field me thinks Mr Murray would have had at least one INT maybe more. The Vandy secondary had our receivers covered like a blanket, thus all the check downs. When you don’t have a credible threat to take the top off of the coverage you get a stacked box and shallow safety play to negate the check down.

Numbness (at least in extremities) will go away when we beat Boom, gut Gus and peel Paul. Until then, the recommended non-surgical intervention is to remain comfortable.

Considering how bad we looked after players started dropping like flies in Knox, it’d mean we were finally playing better again, probably on D as well, which would be encouraging. Depending on how we win, I could even entertain hopes of ruining Bama’s season in Atlanta if Missou falls to Ole Miss and JFF.
Plus, beating Tech could send them to 6 loses, with 2 wins vs. Div-1AA teams, so we could end their stupid bowl steak.
Those aren’t national title goals, but they are still damn good goals I say.

I agree with some of what you say. Not the part about beating Tech being a good goal…but winning the 5 remaining regular season games, which would include beating the 1 good team left on the schedule, would be somewhat of an achievement. And that’s regardless of whether we end up winning the division.
Let’s start it off by beating a mediocre Florida team this Saturday. Go Dawgs.

Of course! For cube, my personal recommendation would be Old Grand Dad 114 for its nice warm finish that lingers for about 10 seconds with distinguishable grains with slight rye hints. It gives way quickly, though, to a bit of orange and a pepper-and-wood thwack between the eyes thereby causing a third eye, rounded out by vanilla and light leather, with a bit of Burley pipe tobacco along for the ride. Then the numbness starts.

Following the Vandy game, I have placed Richt and Co. on double secret probation. The remainder of the 2013 is on the coaching staff. Prove to me that you are capable of winning with a reduced offensive roster (the staff will have 3-4 full weeks to devise game plan and work with the inexperienced guys) and devise a simplified defensive game plan based on the talent that is available. Finally, eliminate the special teams snafus. Just improve and play hard. It is sad that this is what I am reduced to rooting for after 7 weeks of football.

While I agree with your quote, I would argue that failure has many fathers regarding the 2013 Dawgs. In no particular order: Grantham (what did he see in the off season that lead him to believe this defense even remotely understood his schemes?), Lilly/Richt (ST’s coaches), Richt (unable to rally his troops for Mizzou and Vandy), Friend (where are the O tackles?). Did I leave anyone out?

Senator, all you said and all that the guys on this blog have said on this topic is true. Did the Dawgs play well in Nashville? No. Did the O line play poorly? Yep. Did backs fumble at the worst possible times? Yes. Did the STs stink up the joint? Absolutely. However, if the crooked SEC refs don’t flag Ramik Wilson for targeting on what everyone in the entire world now acknowledges was a great hit, the Dawgs win that game. So, we can all rationalize this as much as we want. The truth is, the crooked SEC refs have intervened to steal a win from the Georgia Bulldog football team–again–and nobody is doing a damn thing about it–again. I am as pissed off at our chickensh!t AD and (Bless his heart) our HC for laying down and taking it as I am at the crooked refs. They should at least stand up and act like men instead of whimpering spineless ____. (You guys fill in the blank.)

I understand the frustration but you seem to think that at least one would show courage and put up a fight. To what end? There is no margin in a public outcry of foul. That’s not where it gets changed. Those numb nutts will just be resentful. Frankly, I’m surprised at you. That’s the kinda response my consigliere would harsh me about. I do pay attention.

AHD, I appreciate where you are coming from. We’ve been patient and hoping that our representatives have been working behind the scenes in the past and where has that gotten us? If you recall, after the AJ Green fiasco it later came out that ole Red Panties didn’t even make a complaint to the conference office about that call. Since behind the scenes ain’t working, I favor the direct approach. Go on TV with film and show the freaking world what has been going on. Maybe some up and coming ESPN type will decide to investigate and put the whole lousy SEC ref mess in the spotlight. Sunshine is still the best disinfectant. And when somebody turns on the light, the cockroaches all run for cover.

“take a couple of shots downfield”. Glad they did not take more than that. Took one at the very end of the game. Know how that went. Chris Conley injured and out. I know schemes and plays have changed over the years, but are there any “Andy Johnson plays”, “Kirby Moore plays”, or even a Tim Tebow like play in the running game.

No doubt our running game has been shuttered, either by play calling, offensive line play, defensive line play like by highly touted Vandy, injuries, or we can not get it in the end zone without a couple of more deep throws. Thanks CMR for coaching in October. Now that the staff took the month off, maybe you are ready to to dig thru a playbook.

Mizzou’s mistake against South Carolina. In their top ranking they thought they were Georgia, and let’s sit on 17 points, and somewhere in a possession we do not go 3 and out again and just maybe walk out of here with a win.

I agree with Skeptic Dawg …IMO … if either one of our coordinators and/or the head coach could change the game plan during the game, we wouldn’t have to rely on what the referees do. I think it’s easy to say that it’s the referees’ fault that we lost. I agree that the calls against us may have been biased, but I’m not sure what we can do about it mid-season. While I will always root for the Dawgs no matter the outcome … I doubt Bama and LSU blogs are filled with “we got robbed by the refs” posts. And I don’t hear much about those teams complaining about injuries. I do realize we have sustained more injuries than I can remember. In the end, the pollsters, computer rankings (maybe next year), etc. don’t give you a freebie due to injuries.
We wet the bed at home against Mizzou and I feel that performance is on the coaches. We go to Nashville and play the worst game I think I’ve ever seen us play. Again … no mid-game changes to counteract the other team’s scheme. Yeah, I wish we had won both of them … but I think, in both cases, we were out-coached and out-played.

The refs’ job is to see to it that the best team in the conference remains undefeated, if possible. That way that team gets into the BCSNCG and the SEC gets all that $$$$$$!

I don’t subscribe to the conspiracy theories about the officiating (I personally think that the majority of them are just functional mentally handicapped people) but it is interesting how the league goes out of it’s way to protect the “cash cow” of any given year (See Newton, Scam)

AD I think your post deserves a reply. Bama and LSU blogs are not filled with “we got robbed by the refs” because Bama and LSU don’t get robbed by the refs, at least not often. When they do it is refs robbing one for the other and they seem to alternate. About 5-6 years ago (2008 or 9, I think) LSU lost to Bama in a close game where, near the end, an LSU DB appeared to intercept a pass on the sideline. The officials called the DB out of bounds and disallowed the pick. The play was not reversed. Replays and stop action photos clearly showed the DB with possession of the ball and 1 foot in bounds. There was much crying and wailing by the LSU faithful, plus allegations of the SEC “wanting the Tide to win” so they would remain undefeated and get to the BCSNCG. A similar reaction occurred after the 2011 Bama regular season loss to LSU when an LSU defender stole the ball from a Bama receiver while they were laying on the ground. Wailing of all kinds ensued from the Bammers. It doesn’t happen to them often but when it does, they scream “Bloody Murder!!!”

In hindsight, Missouri probably would go for a first down instead of the FG attempt in double overtime against South Carolina. However, that may not have been the most sensible thing to do at the time. I think AM probably would have thrown it to one of our receivers if they were obviously open – in hindsight, maybe CMR takes that chance, but you don’t play te entire game in hindsight.
