Don’t ask me the how or why of this, but Cameo’s “Word Up” earwormed its way into my group’s collective consciousness this past weekend, becoming the unofficial theme song of the trip.

I have this on my ipod, and had it hooked up to the pa system at my daughter’s middle school basketball game. They were listening to it an hour or so before the game as they warmed up. At halftime the announcer hit the button and word up blared through the gym. It was hilarious watching those tight ass private school parents try to dance.

Can they really ever go out of style? Patent leather codpieces have long made a bright and shiny fashion statement with the breathtaking touch that no polishing is needed (and if someone feels the urge to polish, it is optional not necessary).

I actually kinda dig this song, and it quickly got put in rotation after 20+ years of never hearing it/thinking about it a month or so back. The Korn version isn’t bad either.
