PAWWWWLLL, they’s tryin’ to fire Boom!

Now this is job security:  Muschamp’s got Foley, Machen and Finebaum in his corner.  For a year, anyway.

It’s pretty funny how Finebaum’s seal of approval is offered as something definitive.  Maybe Boom should publicly thank him for the show of support.

At a loss as to how Feinbaum has risen to his current level. I guess the Peter Principle is alive and well. Oh, and by the way, don’t fire Boom. We need to extend the win streak.

I never thought this day would come. After living through the Spurrier/Zook/Meyer eras, FU is finally starting to implode. Three straight wins for the Dawgs in Jax. The Gaytor nation has lit the torches and they want justice for their stumbling football program. Possibly their worst season since 1979. They long for the days of the Zooker at this point.

I live in Gainesville and to see some humility dumped on these people fills my heart with glee. I have to admit that I also feel some empathy for the poor bastards. Who am I kidding? Screw FU.

Yeah, the Finebaum phenomenon mystifies me. A ‘Bama radio homer plucked for the big leagues.

  6. The fact that we are talking about Finebaum OFTEN is exactly how he rose to fame in B’ham. Back in ’84 we had a CF coffee every morning and talked of Finebaum and every word he wrote for The B’ham News. I am tellin you guys….the more we focus on him….the more famous he becomes. He is an arrogant jerk in private social situations. He and Richard Scrushy were big pals. Could not stand either one of them! Both hit on me at parties. What a couple of bozos.

You mean the guy who has been trying to get Mark Richt fired for years thinks that a guy headed for his second crappy season in three should be saved? Say it isn’t so. 🙂

Sorry to thread jack this thing but can I say this to BamaNation? We know you love your coach, we agree he may be the best evah, and yes, we would love to have him. You have elevated Mal Moore to saint status for hiring Saban but you have conveniently forgotten something. He first hired RICH RODRIGUEZ! You had him signed and in town. Quit making claims that history can’t support. You were in the wilderness for 40 figurative years and the Moses that showed up to deliver you was Rich Rod! Your Manifest Destiny was Rich Rodriguez..

    What I am saying is……S.T.F.U.!

Sorry, I live in Birmingham…Mountain Brook, to be specific. That should explain the rant. I’m very sorry.

    • My heart goes out to you Sniffer…I lived in Mountain Brook too. My Daughter was an Athletic Hostess working the press box back in 2001 and she would not let Mal Moore in because she did not know who he was.

Sniffy….I appreciate your angst, just bask in the remembrance of Mike Dubose et al. The Smoky City is a tough atmosphere for any but Bammers.

Old Mikey is alive and well in Laverne, AL, coaching their high school team and doing a pretty fair job at that. Found his niche after a couple of small college trys. He is typical of the interim coaches between Bryant and Saban so it’s easy to see the adulation of those two paragons of football. I think Saban is a damn good coach, like CMR better, and wquate Finebaum with TV gospel preachers and snake oil salesmen.

But thanks to Finebaum calling Rich Rod’s wife a bimbo Rich Rod decided to pass on the Bama job.
And folks wonder why the Bama nation loves them some Fuckbomb.

Ain’t gonna happen, sniffer. 🙂 It could be worse, though, you could live out here with the rest of us among the masses.

I think the thing about Mal is that he was generally considered a good dude and he had a ton of rings. Not saying he did everything right, but most thought he was a decent person.

Most ‘Bama folks I know don’t think he was an athletics director guru, he just had the sense enough not to leave Miami without Saban.

      Y’all have a good day,

I get it, BD. I wouldn’t shut up, either. But please, for the sake of all things…, there was no white smoke (or black or whatever) coming out of the chimney at St Peters at his election. He wasn’t Bama’s first choice. You got lucky, period.

Actually, if given a choice I’d hang on to CMR.

Are you kidding me???!!! I love Richt, but if Saban said he wanted to coach UGA I’d fire Mark in a New York second. I think Saban will go down as a bigger legend at Bama than the Bear. Saban may be the best college football coach of all time. The guy is ridunkulous – a total guru! He’d have UGA in a National Championship game either his first or second season at Georgia!

The problem is the way our administration works, there’s no way Saban would come here. And I’d wonder how Richt would fair if he had the unmitigated support of the admins that Saban has at Bama. Thinking about all the depth we’ve lost over the past few years due to stupid stuff other schools never deal with (publicly anyways) makes me head spin.

Amid our unparalleled happy jinks, I’m wondering if FU will be classified as one of our cupcakes next year. It would be interesting to work power polls in for our scheduled adversaries and update them through the season. We could get a better idea how teams are progressing before playing them. Just a thought.
