I’ll have some of whatever he’s drinking, thanks.

This year’s version of all in:  Auburn blows a 20-point fourth quarter lead to a struggling Georgia team so quickly I could hardly believe it happened, saves its ass with a miraculous play for the ages, almost manages to blow that in the game’s last 25 seconds… and Kevin Scarbinsky’s spinning a friggin’ rematch scenario in the national title game.

That’s some mighty powerful Kool-Aid you’re sippin’, dude.  Or maybe it’s leftover Cammy Cam Juice.

Man….I don’t know what to say…I sure as hell hope I never get a prescription from Scarbinsky’s pharmacist.

    Kevin…I got one word for you …..yeah, that’s right….Alabama.

Oh…in a side note, Senator, Uncle Roscoe the Awbun fan says everybody in Happy Valley (yeah, that’s what he calls it) is very aware of the Cam/laptop thing, and think it is a riot.

It seems funny (and not in the hah-hah vein) that a couple of the more rotten spots for football culture would each refer to their landscape as “Happy”. Auburn must have pilfered that nom de gaurre (sp?) straight out of the State Penn playbook! Consider me stupefied.

Just read the comments section. Apparently, Auburn would’ve won by multiple TDs had the refs not been in Georgia’s back pocket.

If Auburn pulls off the upset this weekend (which obviously is a long shot) and whips Missouri in the SEC Championship then stranger things have happened. There’s no doubt Auburn would be the top 1 loss team out there. Depending on how things go down in the Iron Bowl, Bama has a strong argument for the 2nd one loss team. All the other undefeated’s must go down but why not? I’m not sure why all the eye rolling in your post. Just because Auburn struggled to beat Georgia doesn’t mean they have no shot against Bama.

A lot of “ifs” in that article.

Most of the “ifs” refer to Bama being able to get back to the Championship game if they lose to Auburn, not Auburn getting in the game.

I see Bama winning by 3 TD’s. I just don’t think AU is that good. I guess I’m not a believer. Ole Nicky will have Bama plenty ready to whip the barn.

What I think would be high comedy is for the Barn to just eke by Bama and then lose to Mizzou or Carolina in Atlanta. And then, somehow Bama jumps over them and gets into the BCS game. That would have the Barners down here just in fits.

“The last year of the BCS deserves nothing less than total chaos. There’s no greater formula for anarchy than a rematch of the Mother of all Iron Bowls in the home of the Granddaddy of Them All, the Rose Bowl. ”

For Auburn, the key to a great season seems to be recruiting talented skill players who have been caught stealing at other schools. Motto should be, “We have no tolerance for intolerance.”

  11. The Bammers will beat the Barners like a rented mule. Little Nicky won’t forget 2010 and let up to give the War Tiglesmen a chance to get back in the game. The Barn doesn’t have the defense to handle the Bammers on offense (and wouldn’t have been able to handle a healthy Georgia offense). If the Barn thinks the officials were biased to us (laughable on its face), they won’t see anything until next weekend when Birmingham’s favorite team shows up.

Auburn’s weakness was finally exposed during the second half against UGA. While the D may have been lost in the first half…towards the end we saw what happens when you pressure Auburns QB..
No way Nicky missed this….Georgia fans can take at least a tiny bit of satisfaction in knowing that the Dawgs provided the defensive template to stop Auburn’s offense.

I wouldn’t read much into Auburn’s performance in the 4th Qtr againt UGA for the Iron Bowl. The Iron Bowl is a game like no other, I was there in ’10 and have been to the WLOCP a few times too. Auburn gave bama all they could in ’09 which was more of a mismatch than this year.

With that said, I do not see a rematch taking place. The last SEC rematch was not well received. If Baylor, FSU, and Ohio St all drop a game before the BCS CG, Oregon is sitting there waiting. The media wants Oregon and the SEC. If not Oregon, I could see Michigan St getting the go if they are the team to take down Ohio St. Many Dominos have to fall to get Bama back in the mix but who knows, this is why I love the BCS and hate the payoff. Yes you read that correctly. The CFB regular season is the most meaningful in sports.

..and just to be clear when asked about the Iron Bowl my response is I would put $$ on Bama but would not take the spread.

Those are some good points, but I think the ’09 performance was mainly due to looking ahead to Florida in the SECCG.

Agreed, ’09 Bama may have been looking ahead. Chris Todd also started games when he wasn’t healthy enough to practice during the week, much like Joe Cox. Even if it was Auburn getting back to strength, they were clearly the underdog. Bama executed flawlessly with the game on the line, to kill the clock and get the TD.

I would not take Auburn over a FSU with Jameis or Oregon but Auburn at home with a chance to take Bama out of the national title….and yes Bama is the most complete team in the country. Auburn lives to kill Bammer dreams and could play lights out for 60 minutes. I could even see S. Car. or Mizzou beating Auburn in the SECCG if Auburn does pull the upset…talk about BCS chaos. It will be interesting to see how this plays out, especially with both teams get 2 week to prep. If Saban’s defense has a weakness, it is against spread teams. However, Gus has never been in a game this big as a HC. Again I wouldn’t put $$ on an Auburn win and if the game is a blowout, it will be Bama on the winning end. I do see it being a game going into the 4th.

I don’t think a rematch will happen, though technically it is possible. Yada, yada.

But, the article also exposes a possibility so dire that might fingers cannot even type it here…

Geez, Lone, even Bieber knew that, but it does remind me of a Vietnamese lady I met when I lived in Cape Canaveral. She married an ex-serviceman and they had two boys about the same age as the ones my wife and I had. She named one Jack and other John. She learned later that one name was short for the other and asked her husband why he let her pick those two names. He said if those were the names she wanted, those were the names their boys could have. I told them it was kind of like the name of the town and the name of the space station. They did not find that amusing or ironic and my wife told me to shut up for a change of pace.

Auburn may be ascending, but they’re still a program that has zero shame and lacks any morals whatsoever, and this attitude transcends decades and many, many coaches. The “win at whatever cost” mantra is simply baked into the conscience and will never be removed, even if the Pope was running the athletic program.

That said…as much as I’m eaten up with Bama fatigue, I am pulling for them to beat the cow college and put an end to the talk from the fans and students who attended AU because they didn’t qualify at UGA.
