Jay Jacobs, please.

I know breathless lobbying about the BCS title game is a college tradition, but this is a little over the top, methinks.

“It’s already happened in 2004, and it would be a disservice to the nation if we got left out,” Jacobs said.

“A disservice to the nation”… weak sauce, bro.

Besides, he’s a little premature with the rhetoric, isn’t he?  With the way Auburn’s season has gone, just wait another week.  We’re probably about to witness Auburn winning the SECCG on another fluke play and, hell, Duke upsetting FSU in the ACC championship.  It’s been that kind of year.

How amusing that Mizzou gets to ATL before A@M after all the JFF hype and such. And damn, what if Spurrier had beat them Dawgs? Nice to have been a fly in his ointment.

Interesting how nobody is talking about Mizzou. Those tigers are 11-1 as well.

It would be a disservice to the nation, an affront to the Constitution, blasphemy against all that is holy and would hurt the middle class not to mention throw poor, innocent children out into the street.

Really would be BS if Mizzou is not in the game if they win. OSU has played no one that is decent all year and Mizzou has several quality wins and their lone loss was in double overtime to a top ten team.

The Barn on the other hand has won by smoke and mirrors and got beaten soundly by LSU.

I hope all of Auburn continue thinking like this and worrying about getting into the MNC game. I am pretty sure Michael Sam, James Franklin and Gordon Beckam-BenJarvus-Green are focusd on winning in Atlanta. I will be pulling hard for Mizzou and Sparty next Saturday.

It seems to me a truly weird thing that Saban, for all his attention to detail, winds up with a kicker who can’t make a field goal against Auburn.

Guess kicking is not part of the process.

Of course we could expect no less from the head of the SEC’s premier rogue program. But if Mizzou beats Auburn and the urbster’s buck nuts lose to as party, I can almost hear the same thing coming out of Saban. There must really be something different in the water on the other side of the Chattahochee. Strange place, enveloped in a state of delusional entitlement…

      “….lose to Sparty…”….I don’t know about this “self-correcting” spell-check here…..

CBS Sports ran an article this week about how the Iron Bowl is the greatest rivalry in the country. It basically came down to the fact that Alabama ain’t got anything else to hang its hat on besides the Bammers and the Barn.

Y’all can correct me if I’m wrong, but I seem to recall Auburn getting manhandled by LSU. If that’s accurate, this would be nothing like 2004.

    • Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner.

But again, with the roll Auburn’s on, I fully expect FSU or OSU to lose their conference title game.

Late last night I consulted the Oracle…did not get a clear reading on Awbun….it is possible The Miracle of the Dead Trees used it all up, but we shall see.

You gotta pull for Sparty just cause it is the mind of Urbanmeyer.

Seriously, you think Bama and LSU are more capable of manhandling Awbun than Mizzou?

I don’t really have a feel for that.

One of those (FSU) would be a monumental upset, the other game looks like a near toss-up to me. Can’t decide if I want Ohio to win and get humiliated in the BCS game, or humiliated in some other bowl. Hate that I will have to vote them in the Top 10 in the Mumme Poll this week, I really don’t think they belong that high so I may not. How can they struggle with Michigan in a game they need to look impressive in?

Rivalry week really had some teeth this year. All year the favorites were taking care of business but there were several upsets, or near upsets, the past three days. I don’t recall a year where the rivalry cliché of “throw out the records” was appropriate in so many games.

Just so we are clear here, I would rather see Awbun in the big game than the mind of Urbanmeyer….ya know? Go Sparty.

Joke of the day – What’s worse than Alabama winning the Iron Bowl? Auburn winning the Iron Bowl. Folks, I’ll be here all week…

As a true fan of the SEC, and a Georgia partisan, I can honestly say that I’ll be thrilled to see Auburn sitting out on the bleachers while Ohio State and Florida State play. It will, at a minimum, confirm that the world is a fair and rational place for me to know that the Wareagles have used up all their lucky just getting to the conversation. Additionally, 2002 Mark Richt approves.
