My Mumme Poll ballot, Week 14

Rivalry Week was crazy, but it didn’t have a huge effect on my ballot this week. Clemson be gone, though. Here’s my current top ten list (*tiebreaker):

  • Alabama
  • Arizona State
  • Auburn
  • Baylor
  • FSU*
  • Missouri
  • Oklahoma State
  • Ohio State
  • Oregon
  • Stanford

Also considered:  Michigan State, South Carolina

I’m still not sold on the Spartans, but they’ve got an excellent opportunity to change my mind this week.  The Gamecocks, alas, do not.

  1. I am glad to see the chickens are staying in Columbia this weekend. I don’t like them and CSS can wait another year if he doesn’t retire.

I guess winning doesn’t mean anything in the Mumme world, eh Senator?

    • If it’s only about wins, Mayor, then we should be trumpeting Northern Illinois to the skies right now.

What are you complaining about Mayor? His ballot looks damned good to me, who do you think is missing? I have Michigan State in mine but I have no idea what you are saying/questioning.

NIU is undefeated and not even mentioned. The Mumme Poll is supposed to be all unconventional and anti-establishment but in the final analysis it’s just the same old horse hockey as the regular polls/BCS standings.

P.S. NIU has the best QB still playing in college football now that Murray’s injured.

        • What’s different about the Mumme Poll is the manner of selection, Mayor. That doesn’t mean a voter is supposed to select a team for the top ten that voter doesn’t believe belongs there.

Besides, real radicals know the chic pick is North Dakota State, not NIU. 😉

Who will play FSU for the MNC: Ohio State and Corch, or Auburn and their Satan-spawned luck? I don’t know if I’ve ever been so torn. I’m going to be pissed either way. And if I was Missouri, I’d be more than a little miffed that Auburn is being considered by talking heads to jump OSU if they win the SEC, but Mizzou isn’t.

Agree, Mizzou is 11-1 and lost by a missed, chip shot FG in overtime. sure, they should have beaten SC but that isn’t near the amount of forgiveness afforded to the Halfway House on the Plains. Aubies have a solid loss to LSU, and three Ws that came with a combined 35 seconds on the clock, two of which were simply weird, and the other involved a 10 second remaining play to beat Miss State. I have to put them on my ballot simply because so many others have lost too many games.

Well, that is a list…what can we say…spent too much time on the flats this weekend. Hmmmm. Think ASU and Mizzou are better teams than most people think. AU is getting a lot of love and attention from the media due to two recent big play games…both they could have easily lost. Explain them putting 14 on Bama in less than 2.
