Most of them will go pro in something other than sports.

Hella classy move, Todd Monken and staff.  And I bet your kids never forget it.

  1. This is a great gesture by Monken. Is the fact that they are seniors what makes it possible without being a violation of the great and powerful Emmert’s BS rules?

Well ever since we got dinged for Richt paying for his assistants on bowl trips I’ve lost all faith that the NCAA cares one bit about the right thing. Classy move by the S Miss coach. Hope the NCAA leaves it alone.

Southern Miss is not going bowling so he can do this now. If they were going bowling he would have to wait until after the bowl.

Murray is charging for autographs at the Athens mall next weekend because he is out of eligibility.

Though I guess they could still come after the coach.

Murray is charging but the money is going to charity, according to the article I saw.

Regardless of where the money goes I think that he can only charge because he is done with college football…

The senator will love this….If the school was charging for the autographs, then he could sign till the cows come home as long as he didnt get a cut. You know….amateurism.

Murray went through the formal process of giving up his eligibility. Had he not done that, he’d technically still be a student-athlete with remaining eligibility even though he’s an injured senior and will miss the rest of his team’s remaining games in his final year of eligibility.

Apparently the NCAA has started to come into the 20th century and allows such wild and crazy things. Here’s hoping they can get to the 21st century quicker than they did the 20th.

So I stand corrected…I also assume that Nick Saban is already buying very nice suits for all his players for “interviews” and traveling and that Auburn is busy tailoring suits lined with $100 bills for “interviews”.

“You’re going to like the way you look; I guarantee it.”

  7. Well there you go … another coach with character but ain’t going bowling. WTH is going on? They won’t win a Natty with that kinda attitude. Does he teach Sunday school too? Sheeesh. The stuff real fans have to put up with! Gosh Dang!
😉 Great story though. Kids are truly blessed—————-.
    Whoops…my bad.

Sadly, if Todd Monken doesn’t win games, he’ll be gone in another year or two.

Going somewhere? Rumor is Mack Brown is going to retire. Question. Is Gus Malzan gone from Auburn. Will Longhorns go after Malzan who has said openly he would leave Auburn for Texas.

The UGA staff does this every year. Robert Miles is the director of life skills and this is part of the deal. Coach Richt would just never advertise it.
