Behold the wonder that is CBS’ list of the top ten “SEC on CBS” games:
“ALL TIME” in the sense of “since 2000”, that is. Alabama seven times out of ten? Sheesh, guys, you need to get out more.
Texas A&M is on the list more than Steve Spurrier is. Now that’s tradition.
I admit I’m biased, but how in the hell do you leave this game off a list like that?

Should be on the list. Essentially three lead changes in under two minutes in an important game. And as a Dawg fan for me the best part is Richt mouthing “we’ve got it, we’ve got it” when he realizes he has the right play call. Of course the Munson call is one for the ages.

There is no way Bama A&M this year was better than GA/LSU this year
Maybe Bama game was close, but only because TAMU narrowed the gap in junk time.

I’m with you. I haven’t quite gotten how this game was one for the ages. I was watching it and Alabama had them beat pretty much the whole game. Toward the end it looked like if Alabama fucked up considerably A&M could have tied it, but they didn’t. Could be bourbon effected memory though.

I worked a game in Knoxville in 98 (I think) where Tenn upset Florida and it was pandemonium after the game. Fans rushed the field and I think some of CBS’ equipment was damage, but it was a huge game. Of course, probably less TVs then, so not as well in ratings, but maybe did great in Neilsen shares.

Watching that made me happy. The only thing uglier than Neyland Stadium is Neyland Stadium full of hillbillys. Andre Ware was sickening at the end trying to console (himself) those who were for the Vols.
I have no idea if it was on CBS, but the 1980 WLOCP would have to be huge.

UGA v Auburn 2002 is another one that they left off the list. Call me crazy, but I think CBS loves it, when UGA loses.

Well five of the seven are Bama losses so it is hardly an attractive schedule to fans of the Tide.

Hard to believe “Hobnailed Boot” nor UGA @ Auburn 2002 made the list. Also UGA @ LSU 2003 and LSU @ UGA when AJ allegedly was celebrating excessively were games I could see in there even though they were Georgia losses.

2 things: I find it hilarious the ‘#8’ on this awesome list turned out to not mean a damn thing.
And – I was privileged enough to have a conversation this yr w Curt McGill before the Missouri game. He told me that when the call came into the huddle to go to Haynes there was a collective ‘ugh’ amongst the lineman b/c he dropped it 3 times in practice. And that, my friends, was awesome.

This post reminded me of something. A lot of the newer Blu-Ray players come w/ wireless capability and apps, particularly YouTube. Most all good games end up on YouTube, so for $70 you can get a Blu-Ray player and unlimited free past games. Watched GT 09 the other night and it was simply spectacular…just like the first time.
Chrome Television may work as well, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Hard to believe ‘Blackout #1’ didn’t make the list. Verne seemed to have a lot of fun considering he was dancing to Soulja Boy in the booth.
