“He’s never been fired for his coaching.”

So, Bobby Petrino’s daddy says sonny boy would like another chance, Louisville.  The job has always had a special place in his mercenary heart.

“He told me this weekend he would like the opportunity to coach at Louisville again,” Bob Sr. said by telephone on Monday. “He said that he’s been everywhere, the NFL and everywhere else, and he said probably the biggest mistake he’d ever made as a coach was leaving Louisville.”

“Probably”?  Hmm… what else is in the running?

Actually, hiring his whore, buying her a car, and taking her on a “complete with reach around” motorcycle ride were all fairly large mistakes as well.

And what does Mrs. Petrino say?

In his defense, he said “biggest mistake as a coach” not “biggest mistake as a scumbag”

Since we are on the subject of morals, exactly why did Saban allow one of the perps at the drink machine back on the team? How did the Student Council vote to let a holdup thief back into Alabama? And did any of you note that ESPN attributed Marshal’s dismissal as “a misunderstanding of some sort” or “not sure of the circumstances of his dismissal from UGA” ? It was sickening.

I heard Mushberger say Marshall was kicked out of UGA after getting into trouble. Didn’t say what the trouble was of course but he did say Marshall was kicked out.

    • Totally agree with you.

The student newspaper had an interview with one of the victims. Massive beat down.

We don’t know Pettway’s exact role, but he should be done in Tuscaloosa.

    UGA should hire Bobby Petrino.

Then we should start oversigning–use ’em up and cut ’em loose And (wink, wink) we should allow Bobby to seek those great athletes at JCs who might have had, shall we say, unfortunate experiences in their pasts. Bobby can relate to such kids, know what I mean? Oh, and sign some thugs on the defensive line who hit as hard and often after the whistle as before it. After all, it’s football, man, not volleyball. And who will keep the $180,000 fund for that “special” kid who can run it and sling it? We need a good trooper to do that. Sound like a plan?

No, wait. Then we’d be just like Auburn.

    Forget it.

“Then we’d be just like Auburn.” By that did you mean SEC Champions and got to play in the national championship game?

Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. And with it all the universal respect that AU seems to engender. If that’s the win-at-all costs, zero-sum game that we have to play to get there, then count me out. I’ll stick with CMR and hope for the best.
