I notice the survey only includes Christian denominations. No Jews, Muslims, Hindus or Buddhists were surveyed, apparently.
Then again, the readings for Mass today included a passage from 1Samuel where the Hebrews do battle with the Philistines and bring the Ark of the Covenant as a battle-aid. The Hebrews are massacred. That is followed by a New Testament reading where a leper says to Jesus if you will it, I can be made clean”
God can influence football, but that doesn’t mean He wishes to. Even for Notre Dame. 🙂

I do believe God cares if players are hurt, as well as those 9 million children. I cringe when any player is hurt when I’m watching a game. It’s never too early to pray for player safety. That was our killer this year, and I pray it won’t be a factor next season.
